First Look: Inception

Inside look on Inception. Also included a collection of posters, and Nolan's assumption on 3D!

Here's an Inside scoop on summer's biggest blockbuster "Inception". Included with some posters (If nobodies seen them yet?), and Nolan's interview during the Hero Complex Film Festival about a transition to 3D!?..

- During the weekend's Hero Complex Film Festival, Nolan admitted they had tested Inception in 3D. -

"We did tests on 'Inception' with the different post-conversion processes, and they all went very well,"

Nolan told the crowd during a Q&A. -

"It's quite easy to do, in fact. But it takes a little time, and we didn't have time to do it to the standards that I would be happy with."

- In his classic eggheady style, Nolan then went on to discuss the drawbacks of 3D using highly technical language like "foot-lamberts" and "occlusion," concluding that 3D makes everything on the screen dimmer, and that's not a sacrifice he's willing to make -

"On a technical level, it's fascinating, but on an experiential level, I find the dimness of the image extremely alienating."

- Ever practical, he also recognized that the studio provides the funding both for the next Batman and the Superman film he'll be shepherding, and if 3D is what they demand, he'll probably have to go with it -

"Well, let me put it this way, there is no question if audiences want to watch films in stereoscopic imaging, that's what the studios will be doing, and that's what I'll be doing."

Minotauro - At least Nolan has a logical reasoning for not using 3D, if he decides not to take that route. Unlike his partner in film, Wally Pfister who blatantly felt the need to call 3D "a fad". ;P

@LEEE - More like "Bond on steroids"!! Lol, Nolan's inspiration is the Bond franchise, and you can clearly see it in every film he does, there is always something that involves solving or some form of detective work! ;P
I know the suckers formula now!!.. XD

I don't know if Di Caprio would be up for a challenge like that. :P

Oh, and thanks for the comments!!

I admire Christopher Nolan. He wants to take very simple visuals and a striking story. His work is unique, and I love how he sees the mind in general. Each of his movies explores some form of the mind. Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, and I believe I could add The Dark Knight. This film has potential to win Oscars, or be underrated if not.
