In the same interview that yielded some details on the new Cap movie, Joe Johnston also confirmed there is truth to another Jurassic Park movie in a recent interview with boxoffice.com.

"Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it's going to be unlike anything you've seen. It breaks away from the first three—it's essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It's going to be done in a completely different way. That's pretty much all I can tell you."

It does seem like Hollywood only thinks in threes as of late so Joe was pressed for more details of a second trilogy"

"If you think of the first three as a trilogy, number four would be the beginning of a second trilogy. If they keep working - and if audiences keep going to them - there's no reason why there wouldn't be. We just want to make them justified in their own right.

"We don't want to make sequel after sequel just because there's a market for it. We want to tell different, interesting stories. You don't want to just sell hamburger."

The filmmaker has been quoted in the past that any further movie he would be involved with would be off any island:

"Why would anybody go back to that island? It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it's sort of about studios and Steven [Spielberg's] thing and who knows."

"There is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it's nothing like the first three. It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved."

DogsOfWar-For those seeking the comic book connection, there were a 4 issue set with the original movie. I actually have these in my collection complete with the trading cards.

Joe Johnston's next movie will be The Wolfman out next month.

Cool. I'd love to see another Jurasic park movie. The last one wasn't that good, but entertaining non the less. I realy like the pterodactyl cage part.
And it not being on an island is a huge change for the franchise, lets see how that works out.

im all for another jp trilogy i liked the others. and im always up for a really good story with dino's,creature features,or monsters that we really dont get alot of these days.it seems they like to throw out all the ghost stories, vampires, and slasher. its about time for some of the other type of films i named above.

@1chris2-You are going to see a lot of those movies coming in the next couple of years:
The Wolfman
John Carter of Mars
Clash of the Titans
just to name a few off the top of my head
Spock

I wonder how this is going to turn out. I can't imagine what else they can do with this honesty. We had Living in the Land of the Lost already. Brandon Fraser under the earth movie along Will Ferrill's bad movie of the year.

Awesome so there finally gonna do a #4! The first and 2nd films were my favorite, but the third was boring and short. Didn't really get to see anything at the end. Jurassic park was one of my favorite movies growing up so this movie should be good. If taken in the right direction with a good cast and story!

Price of Persia is our only hope for ever having a decent videogame movie. Although tomb raider was mediocre at best, it isnthe only one that made any money so prince will be the final nail in the video game coffin. With the budget, Disney studios, and big name actors, if it sucks all video game hope is lost.
