Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a lot of fun and while some critics would clearly like to see the franchise go extinct, moviegoers overseas are flocking to check the sequel out which has debuted with a $145.9 million opening weekend. It's impossible to say just how successful the movie is going to be at this stage and comparing it to the first instalment doesn't work because it's rolling out differently.

2015's Jurassic World was also a huge hit because of the nostalgia factor and there's bound to be a dip from that to the follow-up's performance. We'll get a better idea of how things are going over the coming weeks but the movie did land the fifth biggest international opening of 2018 behind Avengers: Infinity War, Monster Hunt 2, Deadpool 2, and Black Panther (all but Monster Hunt 2 debuted in 60 markets compared to Fallen Kingdom's 48 so it has exceeded expectations to reach that #5 spot).

The sequel has broken a number of June records in certain countries (including Hong Kong) and with no strong competition on the horizon until Ant-Man and The Wasp is released, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom could continue chomping through its rivals. Have you seen it yet? Let us know down below.
