Lois Lane and Hawkeye VS. alien invaders? Not quite. Sicario director Denis Villeneuve's new sci-fi flick, Arrival (Previoulsy "Story of Your Life"), is being billed as something a bit more thoughtful. The film stars Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner as a linguist and mathematician, respectively, who are brought in by the government in an attempt to discover the mystery behind some strange alien pods that materialise in the earth's atmosphere.

“If you’re a parent, it’s going to wreck you," Renner tells USA Today. "It’s big and there are thriller elements and tension, but it’s going to lean much more into a thinking person’s film.”

The trailer is expected to be released at some stage tomorrow, but in the meantime you can check out the first stills below.
