The talent agency that represents the child actor, Anjini Azhar (pictured below) posted a bunch of behind-the-scenes pictures of the actress posing with cast and crew of the film. Several Star Trek fansites discovered them and they quickly spread throughout the internet. The most interesting of the images can be seen below and it features two members of the cast in brand new Starfleet uniforms. By the way Anjini Azhar is playing the daughter of Noel Clarke's character. A family man who has a wife and a daughter in the film.

While in other news Collider spoke with screenwriter Damon Lindelof about the Star Trek sequel and he boasts about the performances of Alice Eve (Men In Black 3) and Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC's Sherlock). He also goes into depth about the improvements to the new set.

“It was incredible, and I think that Trek 2—there’s certainly an instinct to just go bigger in the second movie and one of the things that we did was we connected all the sets, so you can just basically follow the actors off the bridge, into a turbo lift, down, walking through a plaza, into the med bay as opposed to [having to] cut every time you do that, because when we were shooting on the Paramount stages we just didn’t have the money to connect all the sets. So the first day that I actually walked on the Enterprise, you walked through the Enterprise and it’s a very insular experience of like, ‘Wow I’m actually on a starcraft.’ “

"Star Trek 2" stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, John Cho and Alice Eve. The film is expected to be in theaters May 17, 2013.

I am very excited about this sequel and never been a Trek fan until Star Trek released in 2009.

I'm pretty excited about this movie, JJ is one of my favorite directors right now (lens flare). Super 8 was like watching a scary version of ET:)

Does that little girl look like a young Zoe Saldana? Flashbacks or more time travel perhaps?

That little girl is very unlike the ethnicity that Zoe Saldana is or has been known to play. I could just be totally off but the girl looks more middle eastern then African/south American.

Man either his head is really small or that hat is huge.

@ Storyteller. I gathered that she was ethnically Indian from her name, but I was just curious as to what her role might be. Considering she has a talent agent, I figured it's a significant role. Probably not Young Uhura now that you mention it. And his head looks tiny.

@ Nail, thanks for the clarity!

I think Trekkies are winning the Trek Vs. Star Wars Rivalry as far as longevity goes, but I'm hopeful that after Lucas retires, Star Wars will jump on the reboot/sequel train.

This movie. Made star trek relevant to the masses not just us geeks, exited for #2

@ GLprime

LOL!

2009 Trek made Trek into something but "relevant" is not the word. The film, which had the worst sci-fi set design since Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, didn't bring audience into what was Trek...it moved the characters toward the audience. Or at least tried. I wouldn't say the film was a success as far as films go, but I'm sure the marketing team would.

Whatever, dude, I grew up on reruns of Star Trek (the original series in the 1970s(Captain Kirk was my hero when I was 6 years old), and I thought the 2009 film was awesome. Way better than another Next Generation film, of which, out of all of them I only really liked First Contact. Okay, my rant is over. As for the costumes, I'm guessing they're some sort of dress uniform. Who knows?

The uniforms look hideous. I hope they are just for dress. I dont want to see Trek look like Star ship troopers! It is almost taking a 50's military feel to it. Its in the future, they need slick futuristic space travel uniforms. I liked the originals and all after that. Keep it Original.

It's happened before.

I'm exited to see this film (and to see how Abrams has upped his game from the lens-flare-light show fiasco that was the first one). Like a lot of people here, I grew up on TOS and TNG, so anything relevant to Star Trek that does the franchise justice is fine by me.

Those Uniforms look terrible ... unless they are Section 31 uniforms. That would be soo great. I always liked the Section 31 stories.

But anyway even though I liked the last one as a film I hated it as a Star Trek. All this alternate timeline sucks. It feels like they are raping all the Star Trek history. So everything that happened in TOS (TAS) and NG is wiped out? I don’t like that idea. I’ve got that desperate hope that they turn this “reboot” into a trilogy where they somehow restore the original time line in the end. Nowadays hardly an actor sticks to a franchise for more than 3 movies and another recast would suck even more. So they can hardly make more sequels especially considering the long time span between two movies. So instead of just leaving the franchise dead again they could just bring it to an “end” by restoring the original time line. Maybe other TOS and/or NG characters could help restoring the original and get Spock back to the future. That would be great.

I know it’s a desperate wish. But a man may dream.

This uniform isn't all that different from the one the officers wore at Starfleet academy at the beginning of the last film. The biggest change is the goofy looking cover.

Simon Pegg said on T.V. last night that they finished filming in May so not too long now. Although growing up on the 'Kirk snogs/ fights his way across the universe' series I enjoyed them but wouldn't call myself a Trekkie, however I loved the last film. Karl Urban rocked as my favourite!

When idiots say they never liked Star Trek before the 2009 film, its the equivalent of saying you never liked reading books until they invented comics, now all you have to do is follow the pictures instead of trying to understand all those big words!

The reason you're enjoying Star Trek presented as a basic action film instead of Star Trek presented as intelligently written science fiction is because Hollywood figured out a long time ago that they can turn anything into a Comedy/Action Comedy or Action Film regardless of the source material and there are more than enough idiots to think its so much better now its been dumbed down to a basic level of understanding, now you don't actually have to think while watching the movie!

I think the new movie actually added more ST fans than anything since TWOK. What we are seeing is the birth of more fans, that's a good thing. If you are stupid enough to think that many of the movies before (Star Trek V I'm looking at you) were better than the 2009 movie...YOU are not a Trekkie lol. Sorry but most of the ST feature films are total [frick]ing garbage. The series are where it's at. It's reasonable to assume someone never watched one of the TV shows, caught a movie, and weren't impressed, tbh.
