CBS' upcoming Star Trek TV series has been generating a lot of buzz, especially with Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller in charge and news of a recent deal which saw Netflix pick it up for non-US viewers. However, at Comic-Con today, it was revealed that the show will be titled Star Trek Discovery and that the crew will be piloting the U.S.S. Discovery, NCC-1031 (meaning its not an Enterprise).
You can get a first look at the ship in the promo below, but a newly revealed synopsis drops a few more hints about what we should expect from Star Trek Discovery: "The brand-new Star Trek will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966."
This definitely feels like a show we should be keeping an eye on, so stay tuned for more as it's revealed both at Comic-Con and over the coming weeks and months. Are you excited for Star Trek Discovery?
