Filming has begun on Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond, and the cast have teamed up with Omaze as part of a philanthropic effort called 'Star Trek: To Boldly Go'. As part of this initiative, they've offered one fan the chance to win a walk-on role in the new movie, and put together a video to explain the details. It features all of the main cast on the set of The Enterprise. Ultimately, it's newcomer Idris Elba who steals the show during an impromptu dance party at the end of the clip...

The cast of JJ Abrams' Star Trek films have often been praised for their chemistry, and they showcase it here to great effect once again. It's also great to see them doing their bit for charity too. So far, very little is known about the story of Star Trek Beyond, but in the meantime, let's hope that whoever Idris Elba is playing gets a chance to demonstrate his awesome breakdancing skills.

Star Trek Beyond will arrive in theatres July 8, 2016.
