2023 marks the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and forty storytellers have been assembled to re-create iconic moments from the film with a collection of short stories in the latest edition of From A Certain Point of View

@DelReyStarWars (via SFFGazette.com) recently shared teasers for all those shorts, including one which promises to be very exciting for fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away.

In Return of the Jedi, after Darth Vader saved his son and killed Emperor Palpatine, finding redemption in the process. He later stood proudly alongside the Force Ghosts of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda as Anakin Skywalker and, as you can see in the excerpt below, we'll pick up with the latter's Force Ghost moments after the movie's closing moments.

In fact, Mike Chen's tale will reveal what happened when Anakin reunited with his former Master.

We can't wait to see what follows and whether the story will explain why we haven't seen Anakin's Force Ghost since. Tellingly, the official blurb for this story says, "Anakin Skywalker becomes one with the Force in a gripping tale." Could this be the moment he bids a final farewell to the Galaxy?

On May 25, 1983, Star Wars cemented its legacy as the greatest movie franchise of all time with the release of Return of the Jedi. In honor of its fortieth anniversary, forty storytellers re-create an iconic scene from Return of the Jedi through the eyes of a supporting character, from heroes and villains to droids and creatures.

To celebrate the launch of this book, Penguin Random House and Disney/Lucasfilm will each make donations to First Book - a leading nonprofit that provides new books, learning materials, and other essentials to educators and organizations serving children in need.

In recognition of both companies’ longstanding relationships with First Book, Penguin Random House will donate at least $100,000 worth of books to First Book and Disney/Lucasfilm will donate 100,000 children’s books to support First Book and their mission of providing equal access to quality education.

Are you looking forward to learning what came next for Vader after his demise?

Remember when force ghosts were just plot points to relay information to the main character. Man this franchise has it's head so far up it's own a$$ it's ridiculous. And let's not pretend this is a Disney thing, this kind of nonsense has been happening on and off since the early 2000's at least.

@Humby - People will still blame Kathleen Kennedy but forget Lucas invented something as stupid as Midichlorians and Jar Jar Binks.

so...this book takes place IN the Force? Like when the Flash visits the Speed Force?

@Himura - Nope, just this one tale, probably. From a certain point of view is a series of anthologic books that celebrate the 40th anniversary of each original movie, they are basically "fables" about Star Wars, something similar to Visions.

Not necessarily an interaction I need know how it happened, but could be interesting nonetheless.

Him becoming one with the force though? Then how he's gonna show up in Ahsoka?
