Another tidbit from this week's Meet The Movie Press show here. This time The Wrap's Jeff Sneider has revealed that Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead, formerly Wonder Woman) has taken a meeting with Lucasfilm to discuss the possibility of her directing the second Star Wars Anthology movie. Apparently nobody is "formally in talks" to replace Josh Trank at this time, so this meeting might not mean too much... yet. Still, if they're talking with MacLaren it's an indication of the type of director they're looking for (a bloody good one), and there's every possibility that she'll wind up with the gig.
Since MacLaren left Wonder Woman her name as popped up in connection with a few other projects - including Captain Marvel - but there's not a whole lot there aside from rumors for now. It would seem she's definitely in demand anyway, so it'll be interesting to see what she finally settles on for her first big screen outing.
The Star Wars flick is rumored to focus on the early conflict between Han Solo and Boba Fett, and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2018.
