J.J. Abrams shot roughly 30 minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness with the IMAX cameras, so it perhaps shouldn't come as too big of a surprise that he's doing the same for Star Wars Episode VII. This confirms that the movie - which isn't coming to this year's San Diego Comic Con due to the tight production schedule - will be released in the format though, a first for the franchise. What we see above is abviously a photo taken on the Abu Dhabi set that's doubling for Tatooine, and this sort of sweeping landscape is perfect for the gigantic IMAX screens. What do you guys think?
