Ray Park Darth Maul Snake Eyes Star Wars

Ray Park comes across as very humble and very appreciative of his fans in this interview with Flicks and the City. The actor discusses getting his start in the business as a stunt man on Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and work his way up through the Hollywood ranks to playing Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe. He's definitely a fanboy, admitting that he's "had a blast" doing all the genre movies over the course of his career. On Darth Maul, Park confessed that despite saying in the past that he'd play any role in the upcoming Star Wars sequels, "deep down inside, he'd really like to come back as Darth Maul."

Ray Park (38) is a British actor and stuntman best known for playing Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Toad in 200's X-Men and Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. He's trained in the martial arts of wushu, Shaolin kung fu and kickboxing since the age of 7.

I met him at the Wizard World Philly in June while he was waiting around the beer line and he is really a good guy. We chatted about him still wanting to do Iron Fist. He says he hears nothing but knowing Hollywood they will get Justin Beiber and his role in the movie would be like a waiter serving Justin a soda. We all had a good laugh.

This guy is a legend...he's been on shitload of movies and he doesn't even need to show his face to let you know it's him.
Too bad he's been in a lot of shitty movies tho.
Except for X-Men...and yet he was killed in the shittiest way possible after the dumbest line in CBMs.

I'm sure there's something they can find for him to do in the sequels. I met him once, got his picture and autograph. He's a really nice guy.

I'll admit I didn't care for the latest 3 Star Wars films. But I thought Darth Maul was sliced in half at the end of Episode 1. And isn't the next film at least 60-70 years after episode one's events? Not that age would matter but would he still be relevant after all that time.
I'd rather see him in some kind of spin off, unrelated to the upcoming story.

@Nerdgasm73 If he is alien and he is a Sith, it is apparently possible...then again...Vader did get his arm and legs chopped off and burn by lava. So unless you get impaled, cut in half, or decapitated, you can survive in the Star Wars universe.

OK guys completely off topic but the cartoon Avengers Assemble piss me off to no end. its like they forgot the strengths and weaknesses of all their characters. In the last episode Hyperion KOed Thor for forever with one satellite explosion and when Thor got back he dropped him with one strike from Mjionir. My biggest complaint tho is the fact the have Falcon being some kind of tech genius and he’s never been ported as such before. Why couldn’t they just keep Black Panther and have an equal genius to Stark. Im going to get a migraine from all the face palming I do from watching this show. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGGGGGHHH SMMFH 2x.

Sadly, Maul was so cool that he became over-used and was ruined in the books and that crappy Clone Wars cartoon. Visionaries brought him back really cool, but that fricken cartoon had to jump on it and use the cyborg legs. Oh well. At least they haven't made Boba seem like a whiney brat yet. Oh wait!

Maul was also cloned and faught Vader in a volcano. Crazy awesome battle. Vader won after having his rear handed to him. He litterly took his lightsaber, turned it around, and lit it up thru himself into Maul. He only survived because he was cyborg where the blade went thru.

Ray Park: Silent but deadly
wookiefit
wookiefit - 8/7/2013, 8:18 PM
Ray Park also helped design the double bladed lightsaber ( to a degree). Originally it was gonna be smaller, but Ray and the stunt coordinator were able to convince Lucas that by making it larger, he could do so much more with it like spinnning it behind his back and having more distance to do flips and stuff.

wookiefit - 8/7/2013, 8:20 PM

Made him look pathetic in Darth Plagueis novel. The novel was really good. But it made Maul look like he failed at everything.

Maul was a Zabrak, also known as Iridonian. Like the Jedi Master Eeth Koth

or from Force Unleashed Maris Brood

Or from Star Wars Legacy Wolf Sazen

It was cool in Visionaries. He didn't care about Sith or Jedi. All he wanted was revenge on Ben. In the end LArs kills him.

And I don't care if Ray only had 4 lines and they were dubber over in Ep1. Maul could have not said a single word and he still would have rocked it. Remember the very 1st time the trailer debuted. You see Maul and as soon as the double-bladed lightsaber lit up, you were like "WOW"!

His acting is utter shite but he can do fight choreography to the total max! After TPM all the other lightsaber fights looked like bad dance routines in comparison and his scenes as the headless horseman in Sleepy Hollow are outstanding!
