STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI SPOILERS - 7 Major Questions We Have Leading Into EPISODE IX
Star Wars: The Last Jedi did answer some of the questions raised in The Force Awakens, but now we have a bunch of new ones to ponder as we begin the long wait for the final installment in this new trilogy.
Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Las Jedi may have answered some of the questions we were presented with in The Force Awakens (even if it wasn't in a satisfactory manner for some) but in doing so it raised several new ones, and fans are just as eager to have these ones addressed.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI SPOILERS - Counting Down All Of The Biggest Reveals And Most Shocking Moments
Below, we've listed the 7 biggest questions we have leading into the final installment of the new Star Wars trilogy, which will see the return of J.J. Abrams to the director's chair. There are more, but these are the ones that would have the most impact on the plot, and we think have the best chance of actually being answered.

7. Where Are The Knights Of Ren?
Though it's never explicitly spelled out that the students Ben Solo turned during his time training under Luke were actually The Knights of Ren, after the events of The Last Jedi it seems like a foregone conclusion.
The Knights were first mentioned by Snoke in The Force Awakens, and we see briefly see them standing alongside Kylo during Rey's force-vision. But if there are other powerful darkside force-wielders around, why aren't they fighting with their master as part of The First Order?
Of course, one possible explanation is that they're not still around, but we're going to have to wait until Episode IX to (hopefully) find out one way or the other.
6. Who Was Snoke?
In one of the most shocking moments of The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren kills Snoke and assumes the mantle of Supreme Leader. Obviously, this completely negates the dozens of fan theories relating to the character, but that doesn't mean we won't find out a little more about him at some point.
With Snoke dead, it seems unlikely that Episode IX would spend too much time revealing his history, but there's always a chance we'll at least get some kind of explanation as to why he was so powerful.
Mind you, I wouldn't hold out too much hope that he's actually Darth Plagueis.
5. Was Kylo Lying About Rey's Parents?
Is Rey Luke's daughter? Obi-Wan's granddaughter? The product of immaculate midichlorian conception? Nah.
Another huge shock came with the revelation that Rey's folks were lowlife drunks who sold their child off for drinking money, and are now six feet under. Some are under the impression that Kylo Ren was lying about all of this, but that seems unlikely as Rey clearly knew the truth about her parents deep down anyway, which came to light when Kylo pushed her.
There could still be more to this, of course, but barring any massive Episode IX twist, it looks like Rey is just... Rey.
4. What Is Kylo Ren's Ultimate Goal?
When Kyo murders Snoke and assumes command of The First Order, he ceases to be a Darth Vader wannabe and takes one step closer to becoming the dominant force of power in the galaxy. But is that his ultimate goal?
We already know Ren doesn't really care about The First Order, as he lists it off along with The Resistance, The Jedi and The Sith as the things he plans to "burn down" should Rey agree to join him.
Is he now driven solely by vengeance, or is their some kind of end game in sight for the son of Solo if he manages to wipe out his enemies? Hopefully we'll get these answers in Episode IX.
3. Will Luke Return?
At the end of The Last Jedi, Luke Skywalker becomes one with the force having sacrificed his corporeal form to save his sister and what was left of The Resistance. But as we already know, death is not necessarily the end for a Jedi.
Yoda and Obi-Wan returned as Force Ghosts to offer guidance to Luke when he needed it most, so the prevailing theory is that Luke will do the same for Rey in Episode IX. Though Mark Hamill hasn't confirmed that he will return for the final part of the trilogy, one would assume that Rey will at least hear from Luke even if she doesn't see him.
Then again, after this movie it's probably best not to take anything for granted!
2. Will A New Generation Of Jedi Emerge?
The final scene of The Last Jedi features a young force-sensitive Canto Bight lad (whose name is Temiri Blagg, incidentally) gazing up at the stars, as we get a shot of the Resistance ring Rose evidently gave him earlier on in the movie. Does this suggest that we'll see a new generation of Jedi emerge in Episode IX, or is it simply supposed to signify that there are still some in the galaxy willing to fight against The First Order?
It could well be both, of course, but unless there's a significant time jump between movies, it's difficult to imagine Rey training a group of young kids when she still has so much to learn herself.
It's entirely possible that the child with the broom is merely a symbol, and that's the last we'll see of him.
1. What Will Become Of Leia?
The biggest question we have leading into Episode IX is what becomes of General Leia Organa.
After the tragic passing of Carrie Fisher, Rian Johnson made the decision to leave her scenes in The Last Jedi exactly as they were. This was the right call and it served as a fitting tribute to both Fisher and her iconic character, but it does also present a significant story problem.
We know Leia was originally going to feature prominently in the final film, so how will her absence be handled? Let's hope they come up with something more satisfying than simply telling us that she died in the opening crawl.
How do you guys think these questions will be addressed? Do you have some of your own that weren't covered here? Sound off in the usual place.
