The Heroes Prepare To Pull Off A Heist In Awesome New SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Stills
We've got our hands on all the new Solo: A Star Wars Story stills from the latest issue of Empire Magazine for you here including fresh looks at Han, Lando, Chewbacca, Qi'ra, and much more besides...
At one time, there was an awful lot of negativity surrounding Solo: A Star Wars Story but the release of that first trailer helped turn the tide and we've since seen excitement grow for the spinoff. A cover story in Entertainment Weekly played a key role in that and Disney and Lucasfilm are no doubt hoping that Empire's coverage will do the same. Today, we have all the brand new stills from the magazine!
As you can see by clicking through the gallery below, there are fresh shots of everyone from Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and a number of other supporting characters set to be introduced.
There are some downright iconic looking shots here and some may even give us a pretty good hint about what to expect from Solo: A Star Wars Story (a movie which has been shrouded in an awful lot of secrecy despite all those reports about what happened behind the scenes). Once you've taken a look at these images, be sure to head down to the comments section to share your thoughts on them.
While a lot of fans are disappointed that Billy Dee Williams' Lando hasn't shown up in the new trilogy, it's fair to say that Donald Glover definitely looks the part of a younger version of the hero.
It's hard for Lucasfilm to change up Chewbacca's appearance between movies but we know the Wookie will be rocking some pretty awesome looking goggles which toy collectors will appreciate!
Here, we see Han, Tobias, and Val seeming casing out the train we know they'll attempt to rob in this movie. How that will link up to the Kessel Run remains to be seen but it's like a precursor to that.
Qi'ra will seemingly serve as a love interest of sorts to Han (at least during their young days) but what brings them together again after so many years apart is a question we'll get an answer to in May.
What a stunning shot! This could just as easily be a still from A New Hope and it's fair to say that Ron Howard has done everything within his power to make this spinoff feel as Star Wars-y as possible.
Another gorgeous still from the movie, that is indeed Lando sitting in front of him. Little does he realise that he'll one day lose his beloved ship to Han (a moment we'll probably end up seeing here).
L3-37 could emerge as a fan-favourite from Solo: A Star Wars Story, especially as she appears to be seriously snarky and is also visually distinctive. Phoebe Waller-Bridge voices the droid here.
Director Ron Howard appears to be very happy with what he's seeing here and hopefully, that's good news for us. Just don't expect to see any shots like this of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller!
