The Title For Rian Johnson's STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Has Now Been Officially Revealed As THE LAST JEDI
After a lot of speculation and rumors, Lucasfilm has now officially announced that Rian Johnson's follow-up to The Force Awakens will be titled Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Check out the teaser poster...
Lucasfilm has just officially announced that "the next chapter of the Skywalker saga" will be titled Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and unveiled the teaser poster below.
Ever since J.J. Abrams' The Force Awakens began its theatrical run fans have speculated about what the next instalment in the saga could be called, and more recently several rumoured titled did the rounds - but as far as we know nobody guessed it'd be anything like this.
You'll notice the poster utilises a red font, which while not as common as the usual yellow, is not a first - though up until now it has been reserved for the final film in the previous trilogies. As for the title itself, though it may seem fairly self-explanatory, "The Last Jedi" doesn't necessarily refer to just one character.
What do you guys think? Sound off below.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will star Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis, as well as franchise newcomers Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran. The film is set to hit theaters Dec. 15, 2017.
