WATCHMEN Showrunner Damon Lindelof Interested In Working In The Marvel Cinematic Or STAR WARS Universes

After delivering a perfect Watchmen sequel on HBO, showrunner Damon Lindelof now appears to be setting his sights on working either in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or a Galaxy Far, Far Away...

Damon Lindelof has managed to turn himself into one of the most prolific showrunners in television today, especially after working on the likes of Lost, The Leftovers, and Watchmen

Now, he's admitted that getting the opportunity to work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is something that appeals to him more than ever before, and there's a good reason for that!

"I think that doing something in the Marvel universe, anywhere in the Marvel Universe, would be really potentially exciting for me, especially as they start to get a little bit more experimental," he explained while promoting The Hunt. "Some of the things that I’ve seen for WandaVision for example, just feel like, 'OK, now we’re getting somewhere.' Particularly in a television space."

Lindelof also confessed to wanting to take a crack at Star Wars, but not until the dust has settled on the current era of stories (which his friend J.J. Abrams is coming under fire for).

"[At] some point, but certainly not in the immediate future, I feel like I would love to do something in the 'Star Wars' universe," the showrunner confessed. "Maybe a decade from now when I would no longer be blamed for ruining it. That would be a hoot." Needless to say, Lindelof would no doubt do something very interesting - and controversial - with the beloved franchise!

After all, some of his big screen efforts as a writer - Star Trek Into Darkness and Prometheus, for example - have definitely been divisive, but Star Wars could do with a fresh take.

Would you guys be interested in seeing Lindelof in the MCU or Star Wars Universe?

Couldn't get in to his Watchmen. Saw the first few episodes and it didn't grab me but if we're advised to stay inside maybe I should give in another shot

@Luigi - It gets a lot more interesting. I personally found it pretty great, but I didn't go with any theories or expectations. Whether you choose to accept it as a Watchmen sequel is really up to you

@Luigi - me either, and I watched it all the way through. The "best show of the year/decade" mantra going around is so odd.

Forget about the drag; the finale was terrible. I don't know why more people aren't talking about how it ended up falling into the same old superhero tropes. Trieu. Manhattan. Ozy. What happened.

That would be amazing! I can see him pull off on Silver Surfer movie if he get a chance. His take on Watchmen was incredible!

Not sure if they've announced whose behind Moonknight, but I can see him doing that.

Get him, and Trent Reznor to score the music 👍
