Jason Clarke In Talks To Play 'John Connor' In TERMINATOR: GENESIS

Yep, it seems that really is the title they're going with. Anyway, Aussie actor Jason Clarke (Lawless, Zero Dark Thirty) is in negotiations to play the lead role of resistance leader John Connor in Alan Taylor's new Terminator flick. Read on for more.

According to Deadline, Jason Clarke, who we will see next in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, is in "early talks" (although depending on who you ask, it's a done deal) to play John Connor in the upcoming Terminator reboot(?), which we recently found out would be subtitled "Genesis". The site also names Game Of Thrones beauty Emilia Clarke as the frontrunner to play Sarah Connor, but mention that Brie Larson is still in the mix. Now obviously this means that John and his mother will both be from different timelines, and the general consensus is that it must be John who travels back much the same way Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) did in James Cameron's original - although that character is apparently in this new movie too! It's all a bit of a mystery for now, but we know Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to return in some capacity. Paramount has set a July 1, 2015 release date.
