New Terminator For Ahnuld?

New Terminator For Ahnuld?

Now that the Governator has left the office, could he be looking back into the Terminator franchise? According to Deadline just such a scenario is a possibility.

Notes the site, "Shortly after Arnold Schwarzenegger left the Governor’s Mansion and Tweeted his desire to resume his acting career, there seems to finally be some action on his signature franchise, The Terminator. I’m told that interest is kicking back up.One interested party: Universal, which is looking for a directing vehicle for Justin Lin. He helmed the last three installments of The Fast and the Furious franchise, including the latest Fast Five, which Universal releases April 29. I’ve heard that the plan would be to possibly pair him with Chris Morgan, who aside from Fast Five has credits on big scale Universal films that include the upcoming Keanu Reeves actioner 47 Ronin and Wanted.

"Since being acquired in bankruptcy court last February by Santa Monica-based hedge fund Pacificor for $29.5 million, The Terminator has maintained radio silence... Right around the time the bankruptcy was settled, Deadline also reported that William Wisher--James Cameron's collaborator on Terminator 2 and an uncredited co-writer on the original, wrote a 24-page treatment for the next film and a four-page concept outline for a sixth Terminator film. His version continued the post-apocalyptic battleground scenario from Terminator Salvation, but added in the element of time travel. There was a reunion for Sarah Conner and Kyle Reese beyond their brief encounter in the original, and a role for Schwarzenegger in the finale."

Arnold would still be good in Terminator... they can CG him to look younger like they did for my guy THE DUDE in the TRON:Legacy film.

Wow Grif for a guy that calls everything shit you must have liked Salvation (one of the shitiest films ever, FACT) to actually want a T5 and even if it doesn't include Arnold? Perhaps you bashing Smallville makes the show seem cooler now.

hmmmmm The knee jerk reaction would be to say he's too old.

But then again.. after the last one a little redemption might not be a bad idea. If Ahnuld can help bring that about well then good deal.

Arnold could do another terminator movie, with some cgi hgh and tons of pumpin iron he could do it. He was pretty old when he did T3 and he looked great. and for the person that mentioned he had heart surgery, he did t3 not too long after he had a heart surgery.

Can't wait for another one, Salvation was good but suffered due to the writers strike....Bring back the cast and dump McG and we got a chance for a good film. Salvation could have been MUCH MUCH worse.....

He should just "HEAD FOR DA CHOPPA!!!" He was at his best in "Terminator I" (btw was the best one to date)I think he needs to stay away from these films now. Dude that filled in for him in salvation was dead on(with a little help from CGI)Sam Worthington carried that movie.Thank u and g'nite

This could be awesome if done right. And definetly continue on from Terminator Salvation, no bloody reboot!

But getting the director from the Fast & the Furious movie is an idiot idea. I love that franchise but they are brainless fun movies, everything a Terminator movie shouldnt be

But I like the sound of the concepts for a fifth and sixth movies but then after that definetly end the franchise

If everyone treats Terminator Salvation like the Phantom Menace which was a movie which is boring on its own but as part of a trilogy it makes sense to the overall story. My idea for the rest of the trilogy is that for Terminator 5, (set in 2029) the movie begins with John Connor explaining that even though they destroyed the first t-800 factory, Skynet began to produce T-800s in secret without the Resistance knowing about it. A year earlier they began to appear, infiltrating the human settlements, wiping them out. But by using technology from the shutdown body of Marcus Wright, the Resistance have been preparing for the eventual rise of the T-800s by coming up with ways to capture them and re-program them. The movie could open with the Resistance fighting an army of t-800s which have replaced all of the earlier models of robots. The rest of the movie could deal with the Resistance putting their final plan into action of capturing & reprogramming as many t-800s as possible so they can lead a serious final assault on Skynet Central. Then the last half hour could deal with Skynet losing its superiority over the world but it puts it final plan into action of sending evil Arnie and Robert Patrick back to 1984 and 1994 and John sends Kyle and the re-programmed Arnie back too.

The last movie could deal with Skynet hiding in one last safe location where it is getting ready to send an army of t-1000s/t-x’s back to a week after Judgement Day to kill an unprepared human race with an army of advanced robots that humanity would not be able to defeat right after Judgement Day. The Resistance attempt to stop it and succeed in finally destroying the original Skynet AI but unfortunately, ten t-1000s/t-x’s succeed in jumping back in time and John Connor & a group of soldiers and re-programmed Terminators jump back in time to stop them. John and his group are killed fighting to save the human race and the movie ends in 2040 with John Connor's children leading the human race to re-build the world

@newbreedofgeek
Hell yeah, I would love to see Christian Bale play John in another couple of Terminator movies. Just as long as he tones down the rough Batman voice in it. And please no more cheesy lines such as when he said I'll be back

@AlexdeLarge & Deadshot
Really? You want another crappy Expendables movie over a Terminator movie? Expendables was utter crap, if they got the right writer and director, a proper post-apocalyptic Terminator movie would be great

If Arnold is in it..I think they will use him to explain whom the original terminator was model after. Meaning where he got his looks from and why.

Yeah because T3 was mediocre and t4 was a disgrace to cinema, remember when there all in that abandon gas station or something and nobody hears the 80 foot terminator walking towards them?? Also say what you will about the expendables, but it's hard to deny it had some good hand to hand combat scenes and the part when he jumps into the boat/plane as its taking off was impressive.

I love reading all you on about how Arnold is too old....are you kidding me???

Look at the type of action that is actually IN the Terminator movies.....think back to 1, 2 and yes, even that bastard child T3....it is not THAT intensive and even with him being 63 years old, he could do it no problem IF he got back in shape. In shape and with makeup he would not look very old at all....

Think about Stallone people....any of you heard about a little project he put together recently called THE EXPENDABLES....? Stallone is 64 and pulled it off beautifully...

With the right co-stars, right director (NOT McG), and excellent script
vvvvvv

ARNOLD WOULD ROCK A NEW TERMINATOR MOVIE!!!

HarrisonBergeron - 2/15/2011, 6:52 PM
I wouldn't want to see a Terminator movie that relied on the amount of CGI necessary to make him look the same as he did in the good Terminator movies, it just wont work correctly, and there is no way to explain a Terminator aging.

I also think that they should take a shot at doing a movie without John Connor. The prequel novel for Salvation called "From the Ashes" was incredible, if it had been what they used for the movie it would have meant new life for the franchise.

(If you absolutely have to have John Connor: he was in the novel, he just never crossed paths with the two main characters. It was two separate yet intertwined story lines that seemed like they were going to cross at any minute, but never did because that was what was to happen in Salvation.)

If you combine these two ideas you might be able to pull off a movie where he plays the guy that Skynet based the T800 off of{not the guy from the T3 extra}. You could probably even put him directly into the story from the novel with little effort.

dancingmonkey08@ To me the real Terminator died after that horrible and terrifying third episode!:S Terminator Salvation was good action flick, but not The Terminator i know and love.
The best is still the first one (classic) and it doesnt matter how many terminator movies they make and how much they use special effects and CGI to it. The first one is always the first one.
Arnie´s performance as the evil cyborg should be in the top five of greatest bad guys in the world!:)
Just my humble opinion. You have the right to say yours and i respect it.
