You might think that the final battle between Rey and Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was carefully planned out from the start, but in the video below, director J.J. Abrams reveals that Selma helmer Ava DuVernay played a role in the inclusion one of the sequence's most memorable moments. That is the shot where the hero goes on the attack against Ren, and it was added during reshoots.
That's not all though, as Abrams also decided to include the shot where Rey takes a breather, closes her eyes, and feels the Force flow through her. How much of an impact did that have?
