Short of something major happening in the next couple of weeks, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be released exclusively in theaters on September 3. The rise in cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 has definitely had an impact on the box office, and depending on how things go for Free Guy this weekend, it's certainly possible a "Premier Access" release on Disney+ will be considered.
In the meantime, we have a cool new Taiwan poster for the Marvel Studios movie that features the lead cast members. Confirming that Shang-Chi will be based in San Francisco when he moves to America (Ant-Man and The Wasp's neighbourhood), there is something of a Photoshop fail here as Awkwafina's Katy appears to be walking on water. That is a pretty cool fanny pack, though!
In other news, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' runtime may have also been revealed.
Based on information shared on Cinemark's website, it appears the movie will clock in at 2 hours, 12 minutes. That means it's longer than Spider-Man: Far From Home (2 hours, 9 minutes) and Thor: Ragnarok (2 hours, 10 minutes), but ever so slightly shorter than movies like Black Widow (2 hours, 14 minutes) and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2 hours 13 minutes).
This feels like more than enough time to delve into this character's origin story and explain the role the Ten Rings plays in the MCU.
