I don't know if it's because of how cheap this movie looks or because the humor they've shown seems like it's aimed squarely at the teenage COD/Youtube demographic, but almost NOTHING from this movie's promotion outside of that shot of him jumping off the building has landed with me. Levi, Savanna and the kids all seem wayyyy off in whatever they're being asked to do, and none of the action actually looks even half decent. Add to that the incessant DCEU references and I'm fairly sure it's just the case of a movie not being made for me, which is odd because of all the things WB have done with DC besides WW lately, SHAZAM seemed like the one I might get behind, if only because it wasn't trying to aggressively repulse me with either its casting or creative direction

@OmegaDaGrodd - the action does look sloppy, maybe they'll play it as a kid trying to learn how to fight idk
OmegaDaGrodd - 3/13/2019, 3:28 PM
@Tony93 - See, that's not actually something I have much of an issue with, especially when they film in more of a found footage kinda style (like the shot where he jumps into the building). It's really a lot of the other stuff, but it has a budget of $90 million so I'm not expecting anything too too crazy

@OmegaDaGrodd - I would imagine the action doesn't look half way decent because the trailers aren't focused on them at all. WB is trying to sell it on characterization instead of just action scenes, so their marketing is more focused on showing how Captain Shazam is just a big naive kid, with a couple of brief action clips to whet the appetite.

Already snagged my tickets to see an advanced screening on the 23rd of this month. I'm super excited to see it. The first reactions have all been crazy positive so I hope I can continue the positivity.

I like everything I've seen or heard about this film!
