We've now seen dozens of photos of Zachary Levi suited up as Shazam and there's even been a live Facebook Q&A with the cast despite the fact that Aquaman comes out long before it! The two DC Comics adaptations are clearly embarking on very different marketing campaigns and that's why a lot of fans almost exploded with excitement upon seeing a video shared by David F. Sandberg yesterday.
Sure, it was April Fool's Day but it was also Easter Sunday and a teaser trailer isn't outside the realm of possibility after getting that logo reveal, right? Wrong. As you can see below, the filmmaker kicked things off with a voiceover which makes it look 100% legit before the action cuts to footage from the 1970s TV show with AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" playing in the background. So, he trolled all of us!
