Todd McFarlane Teases SPAWN Movie Announcement As April Fool's Joke

How's this for an April Fool's article? Todd McFarlane took to Facebook yesterday to tease his fans about an update regarding the Spawn film. Well... it's been twelve hours and he hasn't said anything.

The worst part about this is that I'm sad enough to report on it. Spirit of the day and all that! Anywho, a new Spawn film has long been the topic of discussion amongst comic book fans when we have absolutely nothing else left to talkj about and it seems that even the creator of the character knows we couldn't give less of a toss about it at this stage as he took to Facebook no less than twelve hours ago and said this:

SPAWN MOVIE UPDATE!!!

You guys have heard say that I am CURRENTLY writing the new Spawn movie script and it's going in a completely different direction than the first movie. I'm excited to FINALLY share the news with you!!!!!

I've finally crawled out of my 'hole' and TOMORROW I'll give you a little insight on the new direction. Stay tuned.

TODD

Apparently, Todd does this every year, which I think is ridiculously unfair to people that actually do care about the prospect of a Spawn film. Are you one of them? How cruel do you think Todd's being here? Do you want to punch me in the face right now? I'll bet you do. Or, on the off chance he's being truthful, what would you hope to see in a new Spawn film? Be sure to let me know in the comments sectioin below.

Best thing he can do is let someone take control of the creative process for a Spawn movie. McFarlane is the Cleveland Steamer of movie writing.

The CBM genre has been strong for over a decade and that dumb f cking moron just sat on Spawn the whole time. The comic sales less a month than the worst self published comics there are.

Spawn is deader than dead.
