This involves too much effort. I say 2012 because Avengers changed the name of the game. Now I regret it haha

2017 was the best of these imo, and prolly the best year for films in general out of the whole list

2014 for GoTG and Winter Soldier. DoFP was nice too.

Plus Kingsman and Birdman.

@Fogs - Sorry, I thought Birdman was a pile pf pretentious, boring Oscar Bait. It's nerve shredding, screeching Jazz soundtrack just about summed it up.

@NicholiB - it was cool as a film. Guess my thing is I don't give a crap on what people is saying or hyping up. I had a good time watching it and that's it.

For all the bitching and moaning we all do on a consistent basis regarding what's to come in the genre we have to admit that we've been spoiled as fans. Whether you love all aspects of these films or you hate the majority of them, we have to admit that over a decade ago none of us thought it would be possible to see the genre not only be respected, but to literally dominate entertainment and in many ways save the theatric experience.

Here's to hopefully many more fantastic years ahead, let's enjoy them while we can!

@DrReedRichards - I know what you might think you see in my words but it's honestly from the heart. I've been dealing with some family issues for nearly a year now and that experience has made me much more appreciative of each day I get to spend talking about and seeing CBMs.

Now don't get it twisted I'm sure I will definitely be one of the people who bitch about something in the future, but I think it's nice to take some time and look at what has been accomplished as a whole in the genre and be grateful for it.

"but the film made it clear Marvel Studios was embracing comedy in its films after the success of Joss Whedon's The Avengers."

Is that a good thing now?

Total Disney MCU Shill Fanboy List

1) 2008 - No Contest, Jordan of CBM decade

TDK is still the best CBM ever, game changer. And IM still the best MCU flick at worst tied for it, also a game changer, which developed the whole style of the MCU with its greatest on screen character. TIH is slept on. Hancock was hilarious and a great black superhero movie 10 years before BP self proclaimed ignoring Blade, Blade 2, Blade 3, Hancock.

2x game changers

2) 2012 - No Contest Runner Up, LeBron of CBM decade

First ever quality trilogy finish, and first ever finite finish for a superhero character. That films like Logan and Endgame would eventually ape in TDK Rises. Game changer. And the first ever combined universe film of the Avengers, even if overrated on singular terms, was a huge event film and changed the genre and industry. Game changer.

2x game changers

3) 2005

For Batman Begins alone, the greatest superhero origin flick ever put to film. That films like Casino Royale and Iron Man used as template. But also V for Vendetta and Sin City. Criminal this was forgot. And also History of Violence.

1x game changer

4) 2016

BvS, Civil War, but the real treat, Reynolds in Deadpool.

5) 2019

Endgame was a decent send off, but Joker stole the year as the best CBM, and in a way changed the game as well.

1x game changer

6) 2018

Only for Infinity War, culmination of ten years worth of serial TV shows … I mean movies, and a truly menacing Big Bad Darth Vader comp for modern generations in Thanos. The rest was meh. And I guess BP, the most overrated CBM ever, for obvious superficial reasons. Not the content of its film per se, but the color of it’s skin I guess.

7) 2014

For Winter Soldier alone, but also the likability of that first GOTG movie. And DOFP was pretty good.

8) 2017

For Logan, WW and Homecoming, and I guess people for some reason liked Ragnorak.

9) 2013

Man of Steel.

10) 2011

Even though they’re entertainingly average, Cap FA and Thor did set the MCU ball in real motion. X-men First Class however was the surprise stand out.

HM) Tie - 2003 and 2004

2003 gave us Ang Lee’s misunderstood Hulk film, and X2, the greatest X-men movie to date.

2004 gave us at the time the best Spider-Man film ever and an underrated Thomas Jane Punisher movie and that first pretty good Hellboy with Ron Pearlman

Only leg to stand on is for the OG but horribly dated first Spiderman film

@Acidust - it’s not even in discussion as best MCU film, let alone best Marvel property film, and certainly not in the entire sub genre. It gets praise for racially motivated reasons, and that alone. BP was more interesting in Civil War than his own damn movie.

@Acidust - Black Panther wouldn't even be in my top ten MCU movies.

1.Avengers:Infinity War
2.Captain America:The Winter Soldier
3.Avengers:Endgame
4.Captain America:Civil War
5.Doctor Strange And The MultiVerse Of Madness
6.Spider-Man:No Way Home
7.Thor:Ragnarok
8.Doctor Strange
9.Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 1
10.Iron Man

I doubt he goes out that much.

In all seriousness though, the terrible one came 10 years later. This one gets too much slack. Not one of the greats by any means, but I'm sorry, I can't help it, it's a guilty pleasure of mine.
