While this weekend's Spidey headlines were dominated by news of the title for Marvel's next Spider-Man film, and everyone is eagerly looking towards the theatrical release of Sony's animated film Into the Spider-Verse, there's actually another series going on right now dedicated to everyone's favorite webslinger. Disney XD's animated show Marvel's Spider-Man kicked off its sophomore season last week with a double-header. And now, the show is looking to shake things up even more on tonight's episode - "Between an Ock and a Hard Place."

Premiering tonight, the new episode - which you probably guessed by its title - features the popular villain Doctor Ocotpus. Only someone else appears to be taking up the mantle for Otto Octavius. Marvel has released a clip from "Between an Ock and a Hard Place," giving us a glimpse at the new incarnation of the villain. Check it out below:

"Between an Ock and a Hard Place" was written by Kevin Burke (Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble) and Doc Wyatt (Avengers: Assemble, Transformers: Rescue Bots). The above clip definitely provides a ton of questions. Namely, who is this new Doctor Octopus?

Thankfully, we don't have to wait too long to find out as the new episode of Marvel's Spider-Man airs tonight, Monday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. ET on Disney XD. In case you missed last week's premiere, one of the episodes - "How I Thwipped My Summer Vacation" - is available to stream for free online.

If Young Justice can come back after all these years, I'm still hopeful that Spectacular Spider-Man can return for Season 3. And then we wouldn't even need this.

@Nightwing1015 - Hey, at least it's not Ultimate Spider-Man...

The writing in that show was not just terrible, but also obnoxious. As interesting as Drake Bell's Spider-Man was, that shows subpar writing turned me off of the idea of him playing Spider-Man ever again

@PrimitiveMan - I agree Ultimate was probably worse than this. But that's not saying much.

First episode made me think this show would turn out ok, but by the time there were 4 Spiders in the same city I knew it it was really over.

Red hair? Green eyes? Did they make Mary Jane into a female Doc Ock?

16 comments and no one has waxed rhapsodic about TSS cartoon or Spider-Man ‘94?

Come now, let’s all get our heads in the game people!

@ElJefe - Don't forget Batman Beyond. That was also a good Spider-Man cartoon.
