Though it has been out there for a few days at this stage, some may not be aware that Mac Gargan, AKA The Scorpion, is set to make an appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The villain will be played by Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando, and it looks like he may be reprising the role for Sony's Silver and Black movie.

As a follow-up to their previous report, Splash Report claims that The Scorpion will actually play a significant role in the spinoff as the chief henchman of Mendell Stromm/Robot Master. The character is described as "a menacing henchman who faces off multiple times against Silver Sable and The Black Cat", and "a massive muscular man with a cybernetically controlled mechanical tail."

Even if this is on the level, at such an early stage of development things are always subject to change, but it certainly sounds pretty cool.

So two different versions of Scorpion?

Ok.

@NoMeaning45 - Apparently Sony can use any character they want from the Spiderman MCU films outside of the MCU.

So if they want Vulture (Michael Keaton) in Venom they can do it.

Now if the general audience is smart. Nobody should go see any of the non MCU spiderman films so Sony can sell the rights back to marvel.

@NoMeaning45 - Splash Report dude used to write for Latino Review, and his scoops more often than not panned out.

@RorMachine - Saying he used to write for Latino Review doesn't help, but I'll take your word for it.

Will they hire the same actor?

If this Sony universe is going to be separate, why not just make it as the Miles Morlis universe, like in the comics (which I believe is the ultimate universe?).
That way we can have these alternative version of Villians and have a Spiderman.
Plus, general audiences won't get confused by two Peter Parkers.

And if it's accepted, Dr Strange could easily bring it into the MCU universe.

@StormXmen123 - I have been thinking the same thing. Especially with Dr. Strange.

@StormXmen123 - I don't think the universes are completely separate. While Spidey can be used by both Sony and MCU his villains and other characters associated with him can be used in any Sony Spideverse movie. They just can't use MCU characters. I believe the way it was stated is that the Sony Spinoffs exist in the Homecoming universe but not in the MCU as a whole. It is a fine distinction but may very well work. We also need to remember that the Russo Bros are now working with Sony on the Spiderverse so more cooperation and playing nicely should be in the cards.

@StormXmen123 - Or just continue with Andrew Garfield? Just continue building off of that universe so the General Audience doesn't get confused.

@StormXmen123 - Because it is the logical thing to do.

@Goldboink - when I mentioned the Ultimate verse, I meant it in the sense that this "Sony universe" would function like that.
There would only be spiderman and his Villians (similar toe the Toby maguire and Andrew Garfield films). There wouldn't be alternate version of iron man etc (obivously as marvel owns them).
I just think, if your going ahead with a separate universe why not just make it clear by adding in Miles Morlais. Not only would it make a distinction between this univers and the MCU, but bringing in Miles brings a new flair to spiderman character for general audiences.

Marvel, if you need help for the Silver and Black auditions, I'll do it for free. But I must warn you, it's going to be a difficult process, and I especially predict that finding the right fit for Black Cat is going to take A LOT of models. Probably hundreds. I just want to make sure. After all, I'm a professional.

Asturgis, not a professional.
