SPIDER-MAN: "There Is A Plan" For Spidey To Share The Screen With Venom & Other SPUMC Characters

Will fans ever get to see Tom Holland's take on Spider-Man face-off against the likes of Venom, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter? A Sony executive has now confirmed that "a plan" is in place...

Sony Pictures' decision to develop its own Marvel movie universe focusing on Spider-Man characters (SPUMC) without the webhead's involvement never really sat right with Spidey fans, but it was assumed that we would see a crossover at some point.

We've seen several hints that Tom Holland's take on the wall-crawler is supposed to exist in the world of the SPUMC (graffiti, the Daily Bugle, Michael Keaton's Adrian Toombs showing up in the trailer for Morbius), and Sony Pictures President Sanford Panitch has now confirmed that plans are indeed in place for the web-slinging hero to cross paths with the likes of Tom Hardy's Venom and Jared Leto's Living Vampire.

Promising that fans won't "miss Spider-Man" in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Panitch then adds, “It’ll be exciting if they do meet, right?”

“There actually is a plan,” he tells Variety. “I think now maybe it’s getting a little more clear for people where we’re headed and I think when No Way Home comes out, even more will be revealed. The great thing is we have this very excellent relationship with Kevin. There’s an incredible sandbox there to play with. We want those MCU movies to be absolutely huge, because that’s great for us and our Marvel characters, and I think that’s the same thing on their side. But we have a great relationship. There’s lots of opportunities, I think, that are going to happen.”

Earlier today, we reported on a rumor relating to certain villains joining forces to form the Sinister Six in No Way Home, and while Panitch wouldn't outright confirm anything, his response to a question about Spidey's fearsome foes may speak volumes: “It would be very cool, wouldn’t it?,” he chuckled after a long pause.

It sounds like Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to be even more of a game-changer than we anticipated.

I don't want Tom Hardy or Jared Leto within a mile of Tom Holland.

@MUTO123 -
I'd rather see Tom Hardy & Jared Leto VS Tobey Maguire's Spider-man.

@MUTO123 - I’d rather that use Holland to give us a real Peter Parker/Spidey rather than keeping him the Iron Lad character he is in the MCU. Use Holland and have the Song Spidey be a different universe from the MCU universe so that Spidey can be Spidey in the Sony film. He’s been bastardized in the MCU

@Scarilian - well ya because Tobey was actually Spidey

@m1doriya - Because Venom is the worst comic book movie ever made, and Mobius doesn't look like it'll be much better. And Tom Hardy's version of Venom is the most obnoxious and insufferable character I've ever seen in a comic book movie or show.

@McMurdo - I've since removed the Sam Raimi's Spider-Man nostalgia glasses off and realized how overrated the trilogy & the cast of the Tobey McGuire was. A uncharismatic, unendearing, non-intelligent simp.

But that's neither here nor there. We finally got MCU Spidey who we can already have a plethora of villains established & we can go right in. That's the plus side of the multi-verse from No Way Home.

Even then - if there were no multiverse we'd still have Vulture, Vulture, Shocker, Mysterio, Venom, Carnage, and Morbius. Hell of a line-up so far!

@SupremeNative - MCU Spidey isn’t even comics Spidey. He’s not Peter the boy genius, he’s Iron Lad, Tony obsessed adolescent whose entire arsenal of toys come from his lord and savior Tony Stark. Tobys Peter/Spider just in every way tops Iron Lad, and my nostalgia glasses aren’t on pal. I believe your MCU fanboy glasses are glued to your head :D

I mean we knew it, ever since Vulture popped up in the Morbius trailer.
It’s just a matter of when.

Honestly I’m okay with all of this, I’d rather get Spidey stories than not at all 🕷

I’m not sure how I feel about this or the No Way Home rumors. I really don’t like the idea of having most of the Sinister Six and even characters like Venom being multiverse threats... The best Spidey villains have some sort of relationship with peter himself, which is hard to do if they are from a different universe (So I hope that the multiverse Sinister Six rumors are just bs). Same thing goes for Venom. I want Venom to interact with Spidey (preferably Spidey with the Symbiote first and then Brock) but not through the multiverse if that makes sense

@MeAreLegend - Just because we might have a multiverse Sinister Six in No Way Home it doesn't mean we can't get a full MCU Sinister Six in the future.

We also said that about Spidey being used in the MCU, then we said that about the F4 and X-Men, and then about the live action Spidey-verse.
And here we are 👀

Well yeah that’s a good point 🤔. I mean they can’t leave Tom’s Spidey without his own in world version of Norman or Otto.
Maybe they’re having the sinister 6 from the multiverse because this is the last time Sony will allow Marvel Studios to use the character ?

I think at some point Holland's spiderman isn't in the mcu anymore and sony will take him and do their own thing. Maybe after that 2 picture deal is up. It's obvious Sony wants more that's why they're going ahead with kraven.
