Spider-Man finally slung his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe this past July, and was welcomed with open arms from audiences. Spider-Man: Homecoming was a big hit, taking in $880 million worldwide and proving that the webslinger still has an important place beside the popularity of The Avengers.
Omega Underground now reports that filming for the untitled sequel is set to commence June 1, 2018, and will last until September. The website states that production is assumed to return to Atlanta (where the first film was shot), and that director Jon Watts might be filming in Berlin as well. A few sequences for the first film, including a notable one featuring Spider-Man on top of a bus, were filmed in Berlin, but most of them never saw the light of day in the final film.
The sequel is also rumored to feature Spidey's famous love interest, Gwen Stacy, albeit as a European exchange student; perhaps this is where Berlin factors in? We'll find out for certain when the film hits theatres on July 5, 2019.
