Spider-Man: Far From Home star Jake Gyllenhaal recently took part in a Broadway Q&A with Google to promote his show,
Sea Wall/A Life. As you can see below, many of the questions were dedicated to his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but one, in particular, seemed to really catch the actor off guard.
Asked if he could reprise the role of Quentin Beck/Mysterio in a
Sinister Six movie, Gyllenhaal joked about Marvel's snipers (shouldn't that be Sony's snipers now?) and ended up dropping his mic in a bid to avoid giving an answer.
It certainly appeared as if Mysterio had been killed at the end of the sequel, but he is a Master of Illusion at the end of the day and the entire movie was meant to make us think twice about what we were seeing. Now, the character's future is in Sony's hands, and there's no denying that it would be amazing to see him cross paths with the web-slinger again given what happened in that mid-credits scene.
Time will tell on that front, but for now, the two most likely candidates for Spidey's next big screen foe appear to be Kraven the Hunter and Venom.
