HAWKEYE Star Vincent D'Onofrio Reiterates Interest In Joining SPIDER-MAN 4 Cast As Kingpin Of Crime

After bringing Wilson Fisk to life in three seasons of Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio was given the opportunity to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Hawkeye. While his story appeared to reach an abrupt end in the Disney+ series, we've heard from multiple sources that the Kingpin of Crime will make his return in Echo (alongside a number of other Daredevil characters).

In the video below, D'Onofrio talks about his future hopes for the villain, reiterating his hopes to share the screen with Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the wall-crawler's next solo adventure.

"I mean, it’s obvious that Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man are the ones that my character is tied to in the comic books. But there’s plenty of room for others, I can just only hope that that happens," the actor teased. "But I mean, Spider-Man definitely. I think that would be really really fun."

When Spider-Man 4 was mentioned as a possible future project he could appear in, D'Onofrio simply stated: "I want it as much as everybody does, so we’ll see."

Now Spidey has given up his Stark-tech costume and gadgets, it makes sense for him to be pitted against more grounded foes. A team-up with Daredevil to battle New York City's Kingpin of crime would be nothing short of mind-blowing for comic book fans, so here's hoping D'Onofrio gets his wish.

For realz all the street level heroes in New York should have King Pin show up somewhere in their Disney+ series or movies. I would love to have some mini crossover events where King Pin isn’t a main villain but at least a cameo villain especially for the Punisher and Dare Devil.

@slickrickdesigns - Something like Captain America's Streets of Poison. That was amazing.

They could just straight up adapt that volume of USM and it would be an amazing first entry in a new Spidey trilogy.

@IronDean2099 - Except that part where Daredevil wants to kill Kingpin's wife 😬

@Nightwing1015 - I'm not even sure the fat jokes would pass these days to be honest. But the stuff with the security cameras and company would be a really great showcase for Peters brains. Plus lots of goons to fight up and down Fisk Tower would be cool.

With them taking the character back to basics next movie a street level Kingpin, Daredevil, The Rose, Hammerhead stuff that use to run through Spider-Man in the late 80s would be great! I feel since they had the Matt Murdock smoking gun in the last movie then they should pay it off with him as Daredevil in the next.

Right now there's an event called Devil's Reign, where Fisk outlaws all street heroes.

It's pretty cool (written by Zdarsky) even though a lot similar to Civil War.

We need a Disney Plus show that’s just called “MCU New York”

@McMurdo - thats a pretty good idea actually. Enough stuff that happens there

I hope he's actually threatening again in Spidey 4 if it happens. He really didn't do much in Hawkeye.

My ideal situation would to be have a DD Season4 and Punisher Season3, both featuring Kingpin, an appearance in one of two films.

Building up to a climatic crossover, where Kingpin becomes the target of Punisher, and Daredevil and Spider-Man, who don't believe in Punisher's ideals, attempt to stop him, with them eventually saving the lives of the people put in harms way, but Kingpin is finally killed by the Punisher.

Let's face it, there's only one person who should put a final stop to Kingpin, and that's the Punisher.

Think there almost isn't a better opportunity for Kingpin to appear in a Spider-Man movie. Could also introduce Black Cat as working for him, or if they want a muscle introduce Alistair Smythe/Spider-Slayer.

Obvious next place for him to show up is in Echo though. Same with Daredevil and maybe even Punisher.

@bkmeijer - With the Kingpin out of the game, the gangs that were under the Kingpin's rule now fight each other for control. New York is a war zone and the war beckons a former U.S. Marine and Navy SEAL.

This can be the background in a story starring Echo. In this war, The Tracksuit Mafia and Echo will try to survive.

Meanwhile, Daredevil fights to save the soul of New York.

@Repian - I kinda can also see it pick up where the show left off and Punisher comes after Echo (although it would be similar to Echo and Yelena coming after Hawkeye)

@bkmeijer - JJJ being involved with Kingpin sending the Spider Slayers and the Scorpion would be awesome.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 1/31/2022, 12:51 AM
@DanFlashesShirt - I kinda want either of those, but not both. Having to much characters starts making it feel like another event movie, and having a smaller in scale movie does fot Spider-Man now too I think

I think Kingpin should only show up once in Spider-Man 4, and exactly like the same way he showed up in the PS4 game. A sorta big threat that Spidey takes down at the start of the film to set up the plot of the rest of the film.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 1/31/2022, 12:49 AM
@Se4M4NSt4ine - I agree, but moreso have that for the whole trilogy and Spidey's other appearances. Kinda hope this trilogy ends, just like the game, with a Sinister Six too

No thank you. Most people would rather not see Kingpin become an ever bigger gag than he was in Hawkeye

Not sure I want king pin be in spiderman movoe four he’s low level threat with gangs back him up fight his battles defiantly like see venom show up with that little piece alien symbiote cralwing around end of spiderman three how marvel handles that if they decide to handle it

Spidey Vs Kingpin would be great to see but he'll probably get beaten by a young girl, maybe MJ.

Why not honestly? It would make for a good direction for Spidey, something that hasn't been done yet in the films and make for a good opportunity of other troubles for Spidey to deal with.
Would make for a good use of Black Cat too.

Kingpin in last ‘Hawkeye’ episode said, he wants back as NYC crime boss. This means someone else rules this town right now. Bring on Maggia in Spider-Man 4.
If Mysterio isn’t dead, explain where is he? In comic he was Maggia’s member.
Let have Godfather like movie in MCU, hire Robert De Niro to play Silvio Manfredi and Al Pacino to play Luchino Nefaria, also there should be Hammerhead (Andrew Scott) and Tombstone (Shaun Ross).

Yeah I really feel like the grounded NYC approach is where they are going to start this next trilogy. I mean, they've put all the pieces in place by the end of NWH, with Peter being alone living in an apartment in NY, not Stark tech (back to basics suit), no Avengers to help him out, they've introduced Kingpin and reiterated his desire to regain his thrown as NY's crime boss, introduced DD, etc. Keep in Mind how Marvel operates with its whole "planting seeds" approach to this stuff. If they don't start the next trilogy this way I'll be shocked. Sure, they will likely build up to something larger (black suit, Secret Wars, whatever), but it just makes total sense for them to start here.

In my opinion the kingpin's credibility was ruined in Hawkeye
