SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Producer Appears To Tease Live-Action Spider-Man Cameos In Sequel

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producer Christopher Miller previously revealed scrapped plans for Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield to cameo in the movie, but will it happen in the sequel?

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a very special movie, and there's no denying that it deserved that Academy Award. There's an awful lot of excitement for the sequel (which is set to be released on October 7, 2022), especially as we're expecting to see Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099 in action.

There are bound to be a lot of surprises, of course, but could Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield lend their voices to this follow-up?

Producer Christopher Miller previously revealed that there was an idea for a scene with the trio, while it's no secret Sony Pictures decided against giving Holland a voice cameo. At the time, Sony Pictures reportedly felt that it was "too soon" for that, but following the release of the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer (which takes the web-slinger into the Spider-Verse Multiverse), could it now be on the table?

Well, as you can see, Miller took to Twitter last night to say, "Feels like it's no longer 'too soon.'"

With the three live-action Spider-Men almost certainly set to cross paths in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it would be crazy for a cameo not to happen in this Into the Spider-Verse sequel; though we'd definitely want it to mean something rather than just being thrown in for the sake of it.

Check out Miller's apparent tease below:

Can't really say I'm surprised about this. Of course the novelty would be off if it happened in a sequel but I don't think many people would mind.

I'd say it would be too soon. If they all appear in both the live action movie and in this sequel it's gonna have them appearing all together feel less special. Especially if both come out the same year.

instead of having a hundred things in the movie with a screentime of 5 minutes for each thing, let's focus on just a few things shall we?

I'm kinda just hoping for a shot of Jake Johnston and Shameik Moore (and maybe also Yuri Lowenthal) hanging out in live-action instead. They don't even need to be their respective characters

I'm so glad they didn't show all the spideys, save it for the theater! I get goosebumps imagining what opening night will entail once we see them... this will be a merry Christmas after all

I’d say this is more to do with the fact the trailer confirms the multi-verse, so the opportunity is now more prominent, I don’t see it as a tease

I don't think it's so much a tease as it is a thinly veiled complaint
