SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE Star Brian Tyree Henry Teases An Emotional Conclusion - Possible SPOILERS

Brian Tyree Henry, who voices Jefferson Morales in the animated Spider-Verse movies, has dropped a pretty big hint about the ending of the final instalment of the trilogy, Beyond the Spider-Verse...

The final movie in Sony Pictures' animated Spider-Verse trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, was originally set to swing into theaters on March 29, 2024 before being taken off the calendar last July, and the studio has yet to announce a new release date.

We did recently learn that Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are set to direct the movie, but we still don't know when it'll arrive on the big screen.

Star Brian Tyree Henry, who voices Miles' father Jefferson Morales in the movies, was asked if he could share an update on the status of Beyond the Spider-Verse while speaking to Variety.

"In all due time. We have to conclude it. It has to be concluded. Can you imagine if we were like, “'That’s it. He’s in a portal and that’s it.'"

So, it's definitely coming... at some point!

Henry went on to talk about how the trilogy is going to wrap up, and while he doesn't reveal any specific details, his comments do hint at a potential spoiler.

"Look, it takes time, but we got to make you wait a little bit. You know what I mean? But it’s coming. It’s coming. There’s not going to be a dry eye in the house. I’ll tell you that. Good luck. It’s not going to wrap up in a nice little bow what things do."

Across the Spider-Verse concluded with a massive cliffhanger and surprise reveal which may go down as one of the most shocking twists in superhero movie history.

After managing to escape from Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099 and his fellow Spideys and make it back to what he assumed was his own reality, Miles Morales discovers that he's actually landed on Earth-42, where his father was killed in the line of duty and his Uncle Aaron is still alive.

With no Spider-Man keeping the streets in check, crime is rampant, and The Prowler is right at the center - but it's actually Miles' alternate universe counterpart, not his uncle, under the mask.

Is Henry hinting that the Jefferson we've come to know is destined to die no matter what Miles does? That would certainly qualify as the emotional ending he's hinting at above.

"After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders. He must soon redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most."

Beyond the Spider-Verse will feature returning voice actors Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Brian Tyree Henry as Jeff Morales, Luna Lauren Velez as Rio Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Oscar Isaac as Miguel O'Hara, Jason Schwartzman as Spot, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew, and Daniel Kaluuya, as Hobie Brown.

Second movie was a huge mess
Really nice animation and art here and there, but some scenes were just a mess you couldnt figure out what was happening

@BabyLasagna - elaborate or say syke right now. Sure it felt like they cut it in half, but I couldn't disagree more saying it was a huge mess.

@bobevanz - I think he meant visually. Where in many scenes it was difficult to make out what was happening due to all the animation styles. I have to agree. Visually it was a lot harder to "see" compared to the first film.

@bobevanz - it was visually a mess sometimes, i get the different animation styles to nail the different universe vines, but when there's ALL together at once it's just...a mess

Not a fan of the live action parts too, they felt really out of place

Loved the first one but this one failed to nail the beauty and emotion. I can give you that it's half of a movie, we still need to see the other half I guess

liked the first film, didn't like the direction the second film went. Won't be watching the third.

@bobevanz - come on man, you could have at least saved one of those movies tickets for Kraven.

Cool , looking forward to it!!.

While I haven’t been as enamored with these films as others , they have both been well done & solid entries imo so looking forward to seeing how they wrap it up…

I have a feeling Miguel might sacrifice himself to save Miles dad or maybe even Peter B Parker (the latter would certainly be emotional imo).

First movie was good because it actually featured Spider-Man, you know Peter Parker.

@marvel72 - Also because it featured Spider-Man, you know Miles Morales.

Also Spider-Man, you know as a cartoon pig.

Also Spider-Man, you know Nic Cage as a goofy noir detective.

Also Spider-Man....

@UncleHarm1 - Spider-Man Noir is Peter Parker

Spider-Ham is Peter Porker

Miles Morales is Miles Morales

@marvel72 - Yes, those are their names I'm proud of you. Is this supposed to be an argument for why you don't like the movie?? Are you trying to say Miles is not Spider-Man? Because he is, I mean it's literally in the name of the movie.

It's actually the point of the second movie even, that all it takes to be Spider-Man is a desire to help people. But maybe they should rewrite it and change the message, all it takes to be Spider-Man is to be a white guy named Peter. What a heroic ideal to live up to for the children who watch these movies, maybe they'll grow up to be racist internet commenters!

First movie is my favorite Spidey flick outside the comics. The second one is good, but a little messy. Looking forward for this one

I'm more upset over this delay than Batman Part 2. This was supposed to RELEASE last march. They just now announced the directors.. then again Sony meddling is a necessity for some reason

The second movie was great, hopefully they can keep up the momentum.

First film was good, second one was a bloated unfinished film that kinda sucked despite the cool animation.

The Prowler twist.

@marvel72 - Oh yeah that scene with Spider-Man, you know Miles Morales.

@UncleHarm1 - Miles as The Prowler.
UncleHarm1
UncleHarm1 - 12/27/2024, 5:12 PM
@marvel72 - But Prowler isn't Miles in the comics, not in the main universe. just like Spider-Man isn't Miles, not the main universe.

Seems likes it's only a problem that they made a black version of a white character?

I’m surprised to see so much negativity about the second one on here, I thought it was one of the best comic book movies ever made. Every time I watch it it gets better, I could wait a decade for the next one if it’s that good

SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE is a legendary movie and actually trumped an already groudbreaking first part.
On course to being one of the best trilogies ever made.

Haters gonna hate.

None of these movies have emotionally touched me but that's probably because they've been saving the big hits for the final chapter. We'll see.
