MORBIUS Set Photo Easter Egg Now Makes A Lot More Sense After VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE - SPOILERS

We were left with a lot of questions after seeing some of the Morbius set photos, but does Venom: Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene finally make sense of them? Find our theory after the jump...

The first trailer for Morbius confused fans by including a couple of big Spider-Man Easter eggs that, on the surface, didn't seem to add up. We saw Tobey Maguire's web-slinger in some graffiti (branding him a "murderer"), while Spider-Man: Homecoming villain, Adrian Toomes, later made a surprise appearance.

Knowing what we now do about Spider-Man: No Way Home, things are slowly starting to make more sense, but it's Venom: Let There be Carnage's post-credits scene that really clears up what's going on. In the stinger, we saw Eddie Brock being transported into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, seemingly as a result of the spell Doctor Strange casts in No Way Home

This is most likely the spell which also brings Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and Electro into the MCU, with Andrew Garfield and Maguire's Peter Parkers along for the ride. We're not sure how and why these specific characters are pulled from their realities, but the Morbius set photos below are now a little easier to understand...as is that classic Daily Bugle logo!

It appears Michael Morbius lives in the reality inhabited by Maguire's Spider-Man, and that wall-crawler being pulled into the MCU leads to the Bugle wondering how and why he's vanished. That's our theory, anyway, but we'd love to know what you think about this in the wake of the Venom sequel.

Also, should we anticipate future Spider-Man movies with more than just Tom Holland's Spidey?

Theory would make sense. Still, I don’t think I’ve ever been less excited for a CBM than with Morbius

@MrDandy - believe it or not the footage shown recently at that Sony panel had people hyped from what I read. Maybe a glimmer of hope?

This movie looks awful and leto gives me pause. I still hope this film is good. I just hope leto keeps the cringe levels low this time.🤡

I'll watch it in theaters.

I think originally Sony wanted to use the same storyline from Far From Home and continue it post MCU partnership. Then reality hit and they renegotiated for Spider-Man to be within the MCU and Kevin let Sony in on the only way for the crossover to work so Sony had to do reshoots on both Venom & Morbius to work for the brief crossover they have planned. I don't think Sony had any idea about how to bring in Tom Holland without breaking the agreement.

I still remember when Jared invited me, Quentin and John Barrowman to his party in the desert.

The invitation was a picture of him dressed as a Llama and the box was full of dirty tissues and a dead cockroach.

I told him to Piss Off, was bad enough watching him in Suicide Squad and Blade Runner 2069

@Footguy6449 - Yes, I remember receiving the same invitation, so I told him not to send me an invitation for someone named Footguy6449, as that wasn't me.

He's not all right in the head, you know.

They really need to think about reintroducing more practical effects in movies like this. The Morbius vampire look would be insanely easy to pull off with practical, but instead you have what we see on the poster there, shiny plastic looking cartoon teeth. Makes the movie look cheap and low quality. Which is ironic since practical effects can be so cheap.

They have the same problem with Venom. His teeth in particular look so fake and cartoony, really takes me out of the movie. Of course it is harder to do a practical Venom though. Not impossible though.

Makes me laugh how the Spiderman 3 Venom looks far better effects wise than the current one, even though the design was awful. Bad look, great effects. The texture is so much better than that shiny plastic goo thing they went with for Venom. At least Carnage looks much betterx

Dont know why I wrote so much when I really don’t care about this film though. Love vampires but hate Jared Leto. No thanks. Plus the trailer was just like Venom. Looked like an early 2000s movie.

The best version of Morbius will always be the one from the 1990's Cartoon, before and after this movie comes out....!!!

I can imagine Jared Harris playing Professor Warren (The Jackal) in Raimi's universe. If Raimi's universe has a future after "No Way Home", I would like to see the Jackal, Ben Reilly and Man-Spider as a flawed clone.

Maybe "Spider-Island" in Raimi's universe.
