Hello guys, this is my first article so go easy on me. I based this one from my readings here in comicbookmovie.com and different trailer analysis from different people.

"His greatest battle begins."

When I first saw this tagline in the banner with 3 villains showing up, I felt that it is somewhat a foreshadowing of sorts of things to come in the life of Spidey.

We all know that Electro is the main villain of the film and there are secondary villains like Rhino and Green Goblin (Harry Osborn). However, the trailer signifies that there are other villains lurking in the shadows (Vulture, Doc Ock and possibly the guy in the shadows). It's safe to say that the Sinister Six is a lock in the future installments of the film.

Let's go to Oscorp. According to Marc Webb, it is becoming an evil empire and it is the source of Spidey's nemesis. In the trailer, Norman Osborn said that not everyone has a happy ending. I think that he is the one pulling all the strings to make Spiderman's life difficult. If I would compare it to the MCU, he is Thanos or much like the big boss of all the villains. From what I heard from many, he is the one setting up the Sinister Six. Meanwhile, Harry will kind of like be his right hand man because he will do anything for his father (injecting the serum?) They may also be the one who will break out Electro in the Ravencroft institute after Spidey defeats him in his first attack. They can also be the one that "upgrades" the suit of Rhino and give Electro a suit that can enable him to control his powers even more(because in his 1st attack, he is not wearing that much then in the later part he is wearing a "costume")

We all know that Max Dillon is once a fan of Spiderman. I think that the Osborns would later brainwash him and turn him against Spiderman. As to Rhino, well he hates Spidey.

As for the past of Peter Parker's parents, I think the untold story here is that Richard Parker is the one trying to prevent the wrongdoings of Oscorp in the past (like Peter in the future). I also think that Oscorp has something to do with their death (plane crash). In TASM1,a formula was hidden from Curt Connors in order to prevent him from turning into a lizard. I think that it is a foreshadowing in TASM2 because Richard parker's research was being used to destroy the world or dominate it. His research would include the wings of Vulture and Doc Ock's tentacles. I'm not sure if the Rhino Suit as well but I'm sure that it has something to do with animal genetics. And also, Aunt May knows all of this (even Uncle Ben)

Moreover, Gwen Stacy will die. It has been a speculation ever since but as I have seen in the trailer, I think that it will really happen. I think Peter will soon realize the essence of promise or responsibility or whatever. I think that this will be a heavyweight emotional sequence.

That's it folks. Hope you enjoy reading it. It's my own thoughts and speculations on TASM2. Also, it's my first article. Sound off your comments below if I miss something or whatever.

Good article. Agreed about Sinister Six, very much alluded to in this trailer with the six doors opening, and peeks at future villain's weapons. I don't however Gwen will meet her demise in this film. I think Norman should be the one to kill her as this will be truly devastating to Peter. Plus you need MJ there to help him deal with that kind of tragedy. Just believe everyone expects Gwen death to happen, but I guarantee it won't be in this film.

Does anyone else think that Electro's suit resembled the Ultimate Six? If I recall correctly, they wore collars similar to that, the collars I think suppressed their powers, I think? Or maybe allowed Norman Osborne to control them, maybe?

@fangz - your right about it being just as devastating, regardless of how or who, absolutely death is death.

To have Norman kill her though, it allows him to garner greater dislike. Makes him the more evil/personal threat to Spiderman. Would you not be far more invested in a Goblin/Spiderman final confrontation knowing that Goblin and Spidey had this personal hatred between, more so with Spidey.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but I just think having her die at Norman's raises the stakes and investment into his character.

I think this movie will reveal that Norman is integral in Peter's life, I'm betting Peter's father worked directly with Norman.

@fangz - Very correct it does need some buildup. This is were I think Peter's parents back story with Norman will feature and also Gwen worked for OsCorp. This is why I don't think Gwen will actually die in this one, I think it happens in the end of the third film, allowing Peter to grieve and move on with MJ in the fourth film. If I remember correctly they planned for four of these, I could be wrong. Regardless MJ needs to be introduced in the third film.

And yes you are right as well about the impatience of these films, the need to try to put it all there at once, but I think this is because of Avengers. Avengers changed the game, now it seems all the other studios want to try to copy that formula. Just look at DOFP, MOS2, and TASM2.
