Shailene Woodley took some time out from filming The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to pose for photos with a few fans. Is she hot enough to play Mary Jane Watson yet?

It was a good night for those fans that went to the set of the anticipated sequel for The Amazing Spider-Man, since a lot of pictures of the cast are surfacing online on Twitter and Instagram.

The paparazzi photos Shailene Woodley - casted as Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - are generating a lot of buzz around the web among fanboys and fangirls, with some pulling the trigger too fast regarding the actress looks for the part. The first paparazzi photos that surfaced Monday, 25th, featured a seemingly just woke up Shailene Woodley without any make up. Now that we have a closer look at her on the pictures below, does it looks to you that she has what it takes to play the aspiring model/actress Mary Jane Watson like she is classicaly portrayed in the comics, or does she gives you a more girl next door vibe?

In my humble opinion, fanboys and fangirls judging paparazzi taken set pictures of an actress without make up are clearly overreacting, and I'd say that Shailene Woodley has the acting chops and the looks to give us either the "aspiring model smoking hot out of Peter Parker's league" Mary Jane or the quirky, short-tempered loudmouth girl next door more in veins of how she is portrayed on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics and in The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoons.

At the end of the day, it will be Marc Webb and the screen writers choice, but after watching her breakout movie The Descendants, seeing these latest pictures and looking up some photoshoots of the new miss Mary Jane Watson on the web, I believe that she will do fine.

I believe she will do mighty fine.

In “The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2,” for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

I have no qualms with her as MJ seeing as I'm not seeing the movie. I was just saying that she is so unattractive I get a reverse erection.

I think Emma is the hotter one. But I really don't care if she is a super hot MJ all I care about is if she can pull off playing MJ. I don't go to movies to see hot girls. I go to the movies to have a good time. All I care about is if she can act. I my self don't really like how some people are getting mad at how she looks. How would you like it if everyone said you were ugly. But everyone has a right to their own opinion. So if you don't like her that is fine.

I myself am more mad at how Andrew is almost thirty and playing a high schooler. I think we all can only hope for the best. I think there is a lot you could pick at the movie. But just because we can doesn't mean we should. Because it will only lead to disappointment. So I hope it all turns out fine. For all we know the movie might turn out really good. At least I hope it will.

she's alright why are people saying no? are you all gay? I personally think she's pretty decent, maybe not as MJ, but as a woman in general

I would've gone with someone a little more mature in looks, but I think she'll do fine.

Lmao @TEABAG. I loved that movie, hated that part.

All this non-sense talk about her chin makes me remember how much the fandom were against Ellen Page for the role of Kitty Pryde back in the day. Now her comeback in Days of the Future Past is celebrated by the geekdom and Ellen is considered one of the best talents of her generation (and nobody talks about her forehead anymore).

She looks like she could be a good MJ (better than Kirsten Dunst anyway) but the age difference between her and Andrew Garfield as Peter is way too obvious just looking at them together - plus, they look like they could play relatives, which doesn't help considering they're supposed to get together.

While I wasn't initially impressed by the first set pictures of her I realized it was before she went to hair and make up and even then she still is an attractive girl. I'm pretty confident in her acting abilities and I think she will do the role justice. All of the people complaining that we don't have some big boobed supermodel looking chick seriously make me glad that they dont do movie casting.

New MJ is very pretty..great legs!
Lets be honest,in the comics I never got how Peter snagged a supermodel / actress anyway.
Pete's a nice guy but I think him hooking up with the pretty girl next door is a better way to go.

Let Tony Stark nail all the sexy models,Peter can get his freak on with Black Cat as Spidey!

So I've seen some twitter pics of the guys who were calling her ugly. Let's just say if you compare them with Garfield it's like comparing monkeys with sexgod.
I assume most of the guys here look like those twitter guys. So unless you start posting your best pics that can rival Garfield's looks I don't get what's the deal. Calling someone bad looking when you yourselves are not blessed with looks are a bit hypocritical don't you think?
