SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Star Tom Holland Reflects On Working With Charlie Cox; Hopes For Daredevil Team-Up

Spider-Man: No Way Home unsurprisingly continues to make headlines, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's names coming up a lot recently. Doing the round to promote Uncharted, Tom Holland has talked at length about working with his fellow Spider-Men, but it was The Hollywood Reporter that finally quizzed the actor on the somewhat overshadowed MCU debut of Matt Murdock.

Daredevil star Charlie Cox reprised the role of the Man Without Fear for a scene that saw him offer Peter Parker and Happy Hogan some legal advice. Of course, we also got a little tease about his nighttime activities after the blind lawyer caught a brick that had been thrown through the window!

So, what was shooting the sequence like for Holland? "Working with Charlie was incredibly exciting," he enthused. "I was a big fan of the Daredevil series, and I think he’s a fantastic actor. He’s done a wonderful job with that character, and albeit it was a small cameo, it obviously teased the future of what could be. It was a real actors’ piece, that scene. We blocked the scene, which was essentially us just sitting there, and we read the lines. It was great."

"It felt like an actors’ workshop while working with people I really look up to, and Charlie was a lot of fun. It was really cool to see him snap back into a character that I am really a fan of and that he has a lot of love for, obviously," Holland continued. "So it was pretty awesome, and I hope that one day we find a way for Spider-Man and Daredevil to team up again."

A Spider-Man/Daredevil team-up in the MCU is an absolute must, though it sounds like Cox will be busy with roles in everything from She-Hulk to Echo over the next couple of years. While Matt won't remember meeting Peter, the longstanding relationship between their comic book counterparts means following Spidey and 'ol Hornhead as they work together would be a truly amazing sight to behold.

We're keeping everything crossed, but the future looks bright for Daredevil in the MCU regardless.

I mean DD is one of Spidey's biggest allies along with Human Torch. It would be disappointing to not see those team ups in live action.

I think that’s what we’re all hoping for. If daredevil is in it, it has to be street level which seems like the way they’re going with it anyways

Given where the last film leaves off, it’s the perfect time to do a more street level adventure with Kingpin, Blackcat, and Daredevil.

Someone ask Charlie Cox about NWH for christ's sake, lol, he's suddenly gone MIA since the movie came out.

Daredevil and Spider-Man versus Kingpin. Black Cat as the love interest. Maybe bring in Scorpion as Kingpin’s muscle?

@noahthegrand - I was thinking Alistair Smythe/Spider-Slayer as the muscle, but Scorpion could work too.

Scorpion does need an introduction if they're gonna do Sinister Six, so maybe it would even be better to have him in 4.

@marvel72 - I don’t think the next trilogy will have home in the title. They will pick a new buzz word

@marvel72 - Throwing the Rose in seems a bit weird, especially if this is the Kingpin from Netflix and he only met Vanessa a few years ago.

@OmegaBlack13 - You've got a point, well Marvel likes race and gender swapping characters maybe The Rose could be another character but not Fisks son.

@Darkknight2149 - It’s been suspected for awhile that the son he’d mentioned could end up being the “real” Owl

@OmegaBlack13 -
I think that version of Leland makes sense as the Netflix version of the Owl. Daredevil had a very grounded tone and Bob Gunton did a great job creating a plausible version of the character for that universe.

That being said, I guess I could see them introducing Leland's son as the MCU version of the Owl. I just hope the MCU does a better job with Kingpin than this:

I was expecting a power boost, but the amount of disrespect and anticlimax was unreal.

@Juggernaut2021 - I think it’s meant to be a demon skull since he’s doing stuff with The Hand in his next arc?

I really hate all the "Home" titles for Spider-Man movies.

They should just use comic book titles.
