Spider-Man: No Way Home unsurprisingly continues to make headlines, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's names coming up a lot recently. Doing the round to promote Uncharted, Tom Holland has talked at length about working with his fellow Spider-Men, but it was The Hollywood Reporter that finally quizzed the actor on the somewhat overshadowed MCU debut of Matt Murdock.
Daredevil star Charlie Cox reprised the role of the Man Without Fear for a scene that saw him offer Peter Parker and Happy Hogan some legal advice. Of course, we also got a little tease about his nighttime activities after the blind lawyer caught a brick that had been thrown through the window!
So, what was shooting the sequence like for Holland? "Working with Charlie was incredibly exciting," he enthused. "I was a big fan of the Daredevil series, and I think he’s a fantastic actor. He’s done a wonderful job with that character, and albeit it was a small cameo, it obviously teased the future of what could be. It was a real actors’ piece, that scene. We blocked the scene, which was essentially us just sitting there, and we read the lines. It was great."
"It felt like an actors’ workshop while working with people I really look up to, and Charlie was a lot of fun. It was really cool to see him snap back into a character that I am really a fan of and that he has a lot of love for, obviously," Holland continued. "So it was pretty awesome, and I hope that one day we find a way for Spider-Man and Daredevil to team up again."
A Spider-Man/Daredevil team-up in the MCU is an absolute must, though it sounds like Cox will be busy with roles in everything from She-Hulk to Echo over the next couple of years. While Matt won't remember meeting Peter, the longstanding relationship between their comic book counterparts means following Spidey and 'ol Hornhead as they work together would be a truly amazing sight to behold.
We're keeping everything crossed, but the future looks bright for Daredevil in the MCU regardless.
