THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Star Rhys Ifans Plays Coy When Asked About Lizard Return In SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME

We know The Lizard will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but is Rhys Ifans going to be lending his voice to the villain? Here's what the actor said about his possible Marvel Cinematic Universe debut...

We're in the endgame now, web-heads! Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in theaters this week, and that means we're just days away from finally learning how this Multiverse-spanning trilogy concludes. Over the past couple of years, we've seen countless rumours, theories, and apparent leaks do the rounds online, so everything will soon be a lot clearer when it comes to this threequel.

One thing we're still not certain about is whether Rhys Ifans and Thomas Haden Church will return to reprise their respective roles as The Lizard and Sandman. The presence of both villains has been confirmed in trailers for the movie, though they're both depicted in a way that means neither actor is necessarily needed to bring them to life (Lizard is a monster, while Sandman is a huge sand beast).

Murphy's Multiverse recently caught up with The King's Man star to ask if he'll be back as Curt Connors/lending his voice to The Lizard, and he shared a somewhat cryptic response.

"Well, you know, like most Christmas presents, the good thing is not knowing what’s in them until it’s time to open them," Ifans teased, basically confirming that, yes, he'll be back.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have done a good job of keeping pretty much everyone other than Doctor Octopus under wraps while promoting Spider-Man: No Way Home, so we have no clue what the rest of the villains will bring to the table. That's exciting in a lot of ways, and hopefully means there are still plenty of surprises in store after the sheer amount of chatter that's surrounded the blockbuster.

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

@dragon316 - Rhys is just more racist fan casting. Come on Marvel, have some balls and hire the Geico lizard already! We dragons demand real representation!

Yup, but sometimes the kids under the tree can be very disappointed by the presents (by not being Andrew and Tobey).

But yeah, I hope for the best (a deep movie, with or without Tobey in it).

............

......... Uuuuuuugh..... Josh.... bruh....

This is not confirmation. This is not basically confirmation. This is him not wanting to ruin ANY type of surprise with hints. He may not even be in the film, but agreed to let them cgi his likeness or something, won't even have dialog....but you say what he said is basically confirming that yes he'll be back?

Ugh.... sometimes this site's "journalism" hurts my [frick]ing soul.

I bet it’s just a voice, I doubt we actually see him in his human form
