It's Easter weekend and that means the news cycle is a little slower than normal. We're keeping you up to speed with everything happening at Star Wars Celebration over at SFFGazette.com, of course, but here on ComicBookMovie.com, we have a very important question for you...
Who is the best live-action Spider-Man?
Only three actors have brought the character to life on the big screen in the non-animated realm. First up was Tobey Maguire way back in 2002's Spider-Man. Two years later, he returned for the masterpiece that is Spider-Man 2, though his time as the web-slinger reached a disappointingly premature end when Spider-Man 3 wrapped up the trilogy in 2007.
That wasn't the best movie, of course, and a reboot of the franchise followed in 2012 with The Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield took over the role, but "The Untold Story" we were promised felt awfully familiar. Despite an oddly middle-aged interpretation of how a teenager acts (skateboards and Coldplay!), the actor did a terrific job and the movie was entertaining enough.
The less said about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014, the better, but Garfield did his best with the material he was working with. That was where the series ended, with plans for third and fourth movies scrapped along with a Sinister Six spin-off. Why? The sequel's budget spiralled out of control, meaning it was deemed a box office failure.
With Sony desperate to return Spidey to his former glory, they turned to Marvel Studios for help. Then-relative unknown Tom Holland was enlisted to play Peter Parker in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, later reprising the role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
In 2021, all three Spider-Men united in the unforgettable Spider-Man: No Way Home.
We know it won't be easy, but you can cast your vote and pick the best live-action Spider-Man in the poll below.
