SPIDER-MAN 2, FANTASTIC FOUR 2 & DAREDEVIL Concept Art By Wil Rees

Hit the jump to check out awesome concept art that conceptual illustrator Wil Madoc Rees ("Thor") created for 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Daredevil as well as Sony's Spider-Man 2.

Wil Rees is a conceptual illustrator and has worked on numerous big-budget Hollywood films. Today, I want to look at the artwork Rees created for three comic book movies: Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 (2004), Mark Steven Johnson's Daredevil (2003) and Tim Story's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). I'm especially fond of the Spidey 2 artwork as it contains the "Go get 'em, Tiger" scene with Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) encouraging Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) to embrace his superhero identity. There's also key frame of Dr. Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) escaping the hospital right after that chilling operation scene.

I think a lot of you will find the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer  key frame art even more tantalizing as it features a lot of unused scenes. At some point the script had the Fantastic Four confronting Doctor Doom (Julian McMahon) in an ancient Egyptian temple. There's also artwork of an unused Silver Surfer scene that would've taken place at Cambodia's Angkor Wat temple during a snowstorm
.

Marvel Studios would do The Fantastic Four justice, not FOX.

That concept art was dope! Such a tragedy that DD and FF art was more phenomenal than the movie they released.

But nothing tops the poo flinging monkey pic...that needs to be made into its own movie!

@0megaDaGod

That would be amazing.

Brad Bird did a great job with "The Incredibles" movie which is similar to the Fantastic Four team and better than the two FOX FF movies.

@cinnamon

She's immature and can't act.

"Hey let me just do a pose while i stick my tongue out in every photo i'm in."

Real classy. I can picture her as the grotesque transformations Enchantress does in JLD.

I weep for Fantastic Four. It seems like everybody had the right idea for FF except the Fox corporation.

Just please come back to Marvel soon.

Silver Surfer vs A planetary Earth Armada and him taking it out with no trouble would have made that movie so much damn money.

I have to admit.. The scene with Human Torch chasing after him was sweet. Silver age Marvel at its best.

@omegadagod

I'm glad me and you are on the same level with FF2 and Daredevil uncut

Other than the Galactus thing and some bad acting... The movie isn't really that bad

Closes thing to the source material we're going to get

Maan you really need to see the director's cut, you will really be surprised how it's a better film(more kingpin, more bullseye, alternate scenes that actually hope the movie flow better).

I'm sure ppl told you the same thing

So you can't use the concepts for FF2 that you have here but THIS makes it into the movie and is actually called GALACTUS?

what the ****in f***!!!

I remember Tim Story said that Galactus himself was actually in the space cloud and we won't see his giant alien appearance until The Silver Surfer movie.

But that never happen

Ahh this was a simpler time for CBMs, back when shared universes, studio biasism and issues with rights didnt exist.

Everytime the playground scene comes up in the movie, I pretend I gotta get something from the kitchen. Then come back when the scene is over
