A source over at SHH says that the official start date for Spider-Man 3 filming has been announced:

"In yesterday's issue of Variety, they announced the official start date for Spidey 3...January 2, 2006."

This is exciting news for all Spider-Man fans regarding the upcoming film which is set for a May 4, 2007 release date.
