Marvel's SPIDER-MAN Won Some Huge Awards At This Year's Gamers' Choice Awards

Insomniac Games has broken a number of records with Spider-Man and they had another good night yesterday as they picked up some huge awards at the Gamers' Choice Awards. Hit the jump for details...

While Red Dead Redemption 2 came along and broke pretty much every record set by Spider-Man, it was still a good night for the wall-crawler yesterday evening as it racked up even more accolades at the Gamers' Choice Awards. 

The critically acclaimed PlayStation 4 title took home three awards: "Fan Favourite Action Game," "Fan Favourite Single Player Gaming Experience," and "Fan Favourite Character of the year" (for the titular hero, obviously). 

The ceremony kicked off with a performance by KISS and even featured a tribute to Stan "The Man" Lee. The likes of Fortnite and Monster Hunter: World also picked up some big wins but we should probably expect Red Dead Redemption 2 to dominate award ceremonies like this next year. 

Spider-Man was released in September and its final batch of DLC will be released later this month.

That will presumably be the last lot of story content for the game before Insomniac Games starts developing a sequel. Have you attained 100% completion yet? Share your thoughts below.

@Equivocal - the base game is one thing, the DLC is just bonus content (generally).it's a practice to expand the game while keeping the player base active and coming back to it. sadly, it's a practice that is hella abused by some major game publishers.
essentially patches and updates with additional content developed after the game is released. well, ideally, because some a**hole companies develop the DLC even when the game is in development. DLC can be an extra playable character, extra side quests or challenges, a whole other story arc, extra weapons or skins or whatever.

IMHO Spider-man PS4, is the BEST representation of Spider-man outside of comics. This is what homecoming should have been like.

@nikgrid - Definately the best in terms of villain and hero arc. The final monologue of Peter and Octaviuswas insanely moving. (I have nothing against Homecomings villain/hero arc though)

@MrCamw1 - Homecoming just... it was missing a LOT. I love Tom Holland in the role but it didn’t feel like Spider-Man.

@MrCamw1 - No I'm a huge Spidey fan I loved homecoming, I just wish it didn't have the ridiculous AI suit and had a bit more New York.
Also Flash sucked. Spidey PS4's Pete really drew me in, I can't say much more without spoilers but yes Octavious was great in this game.

@nikgrid - thats pretty fair. In regards to no spoilers though if they were to just copy and paste this version of Octavius into the films I would be ok with that. This was the definative Doc Oc to me.

Silver Linings reveal is probably tomorrow, what all suits are you guys hoping for this time around? My money is on Ben Reilly Sensational suit, cosmic Spidey suit and an Insomniac original suit.

This awards show was a horrible joke, I'm glad I missed it. Fortnite winning GOTY? Seriously? The Game Awards that happened last week was the real deal.

Also, how can RDR 2 dominate the awards ceremonies next year when it's already had its chance? It can't get nominated two years in a row.
