Corina Calderon Talks SUICIDE SQUAD; Praises Jared Leto’s Performance As ‘The Joker’
Everyone on the set of Suicide Squad is amazed at Jared Leto's performance as the Joker! Margot Robbie said she was "petrified of him," Leto himself said they would lock him "away in a box" after the film, and now Co-star Corina Calderon shares her thoughts on his portrayal...
We don’t know much about Corina Calderon’s character in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. All we do know is her character’s name, which is Grace. While she spoke with HHB Media at a recent red carpet event, she revealed that she can’t say much about the film itself, but she did tell how her experience was on the set. “Honestly, it was a great opportunity because before we shot my scenes I was on set with David Ayer, the director, who I got to sit with and watch direct and I sat with the headphones, so I got to watch them do their scenes before my scenes.” She then added, “So for me, I was like ‘I’m ready to go! I’m ready to play’”
Later in the interview, she revealed how it was working with Jared Leto, and told how she was amazed by his "brilliant" performance. “Jared Leto as the joker is just…he is brilliant. I was amazed, just fascinated, just memorized watching him. Even when he was going to get his mic checked, in between scenes or setting up another scene, watching him, really gave me this freedom. A whole new freedom as an actress, and I just felt brave, watching him go and just…it was an amazing lesson." The young actress then continued, "He’s a great teacher, even though he didn’t know he was teaching me.”
She's not the only one blown away by Leto's incarnation of the Joker! Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and more co-stars recently awed at Jared's portrayal. What do you think? To see Corina (as she dons a Donna Mizani top), speak for herself, check out the video interview below!
