James Gunn recently confirmed that he's working remotely on The Suicide Squad, and that hopefully means it should be able to still meet its planned August 2021 release date. Not much is known about the reboot/sequel beyond what we've seen in set photos, but the filmmaker has been dropping some intriguing hints on social media.
When one fan asked Gunn which member of Task Force X he believes will have the most screentime in the final cut of The Suicide Squad, he confessed that answering would be akin to sharing spoilers!
What does that mean? Well, Gunn dropped a detail like that would probably reveal that they end up surviving a film it's thought will feature multiple casualties. Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is someone we've seen a lot of in the aforementioned set photos, but there are plenty of other likely candidates (including whoever Idris Elba is going to end up playing in the DC Comics adaptation).
With such a long time to go until The Suicide Squad is released and Hollywood pretty much at a standstill due to COVID-19, it's hard to say when a first look is coming our way. However, you have tom believe that a trailer of some sort might have been released at Comic-Con in July!
We'll keep you guys updated as we learn more.
