When James Gunn was first announced as The Suicide Squad's director, fans wondered how many of his Guardians of the Galaxy family would be joining him on his latest endeavor. While Dave Bautista ultimately passed on John Cena's role (believed to be Peacemaker), it looks as though Michael Rooker will be taking the role of King Shark.

The Wrap has reports that Rooker is in talks to portray the ferocious villain in Gunn's Suicide Squad sequel. The actor is most famous for his role as Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Merle Dixon on The Walking Dead

This will be Michael Rooker's fifth time working with Gunn, following the both Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Slither, and Super

The character of King Shark has been gaining in popularity as of late thanks to his appearances in The Flash TV series. Created by Karl Kesel in the 1990s, this will be the character's first big screen live-action appearance. Speculation points to Rooker primarily performing voice work.

This is really cool news and I can't help but wonder if any other GOTG stars might show up in this movie too, like Vin Diesel as Polka Dot Man.
