James Gunn's Peacemaker began production last month, and two more supporting players have now been added to the cast of The Suicide Squad spinoff.

Elizabeth Faith Ludlow (The Walking Dead, Another Life) and Rizwan Manji (Goliath, Minority Report) have joined the project as recurring characters named Keeya and Jamil, though no other details on their roles were provided.

As it It turns out, Ludlow actually worked with Gunn previously on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but he didn't recognize her when she auditioned due to the alien makeup she wore for the Marvel sequel.

In addition to John Cena as the title character, Peacemaker stars Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Chris Conrad, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lochlyn Munro, Annie Chang and Christopher Heyerdahl.

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that the series is expected to explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

Gunn is writing and directing the show, which was ordered to series last September. Cena's titular antihero will make his debut in The Suicide Squad, which is set to debut simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max this August.

Really intrigued by this show and the movie. Probably my most anticipated DC projects after ZSJL, im down for over the top violence and writing with this property in particular

Capeshit is becoming so comic accurate that now the spin-offs are becoming more interesting than their main events.

@Reeds2Much - comic accurate is a stretch. Matching the character aesthetic doesn't equal comic accurate.

Still can't believe we're getting a Peacemaker show. Hope he makes it thru the movie so we can get that live action L.A.W. movie everyone's been asking for.

@inkniron - Edgar Wright edited the magazine issue the quote comes from and talked about it on the Empire podcast I listened to earlier today.

Perhaps most interesting is Wright discussing how, while he remained friends with Chris Evans and Paul Rudd, that he and Kevin Feige went from pretty good friends to radio silence after Ant-Man, and Wright's favorite thing about this issue is that it gave him a chance to reconnect with Feige and become friends again.

I doubt this will lead to anything Marvel related from Wright in the future, but could you imagine "Edgar Wright Directs Deadpool 3" or what have you? The Internet would lose its mind and everyone would wonder when Wright was gonna leave again LOL.

I don't know them but glad they are getting the chance to work with James Gunn in a project like this, they'll likely learn a lot from him to produce the best material.
