THE SUICIDE SQUAD Star Jai Courtney Says "F*ck Marvel" When Asked About A Potential DCEU Crossover

Strewth! During a group video chat, several cast members from The Suicide Squad were asked to weigh in on a potential Marvel Studios/DC Films Universe crossover, & Jai Courtney gave an hilarious response.

Well, Captain Boomerang actor Jai Courtney can probably expect to have a few angry Tweets sent his way!

Several members of The Suicide Squad cast took part in a video interview with Jakes Takes, and the host asked each of them to name a Marvel character they'd most like to see join the ranks of Task Force X. Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) said Thor, Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) said Deadpool, Nathan Fillion (TDK) said Vulture, and Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher 2) said Peter Quill.

Courtney's response? "[frick] Marvel!"

Though the Aussie actor was clearly just having some fun, the type of fans that would take issue with his comment are not likely to have a sense of humor about it. Though, to be fair, he probably only said it to stir things up a bit in the first place!

The review embargo for the movie lifts on Wednesday, so be sure to check back for our take then.

"Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out — even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today's do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone's favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese."
"Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and- destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave...and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them."

We recently found out that the movie was officially rated R for "strong violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use and brief graphic nudity."

The Suicide Squad is set to premiere on HBO Max and in theaters on August 6.

Ironically don't want Jai to die in this one...Boomerang is so much fun as a piece of shit.

I'm shocked he hasn't been in the Harley Quinn cartoon tbh

@DannRamm113 - Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and Bronze Tiger were always the holy trinity of the 80s team, it would suck if they killed him off in this one and they made a threequel without him.

The genuine laughter from everyone made this so much better. This is how a squad member, more specifically captain boomerang, should respond

@rebellion

It’s a joke, bro. They’re literally all laughing it.

If Marvel approached Jai for a role obviously he’d want to work with them.
