With principal photography starting in September, James Gunn's The Suicide Squad will no doubt be making waves until its release.
Over the past couple of weeks, a lot has happened in the film's development. Most importantly, Will Smith dropped out as Deadshot, with Gunn and co. finding a replacement in Thor: Ragnorok's Idris Elba. In addition, the roster proved itself to be quite animated, utilizing obscure characters like King Shark and Polka-Dot Man. Most recently, Production Weekly has revealed the film's working title: El Dorado.
Though it is unclear how the mythical city of gold fits into the film's narrative, it is intriguing that the working title was chosen in the first place. While a lot of production titles have to do little with the movie's finished product, it wouldn't be surprising if the film took an elitist vs. everyman narrative, something the working title could be hinting at.
