Shia LaBeouf (I, Robot; Holes) may play Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen in the Superman movie.

"I met with McG (the director) today and talked about Jimmy Olsen and who's going to be playing who," LaBeouf told USA Today. "The production's so locked down they said I can't even take the script home. I have to go to Warner Bros. (studio) to read it and then leave it there."

Filming reportedly starts in November. Key roles have yet to be cast including Lois Lane, Lex Luthor and of course, Clark Kent/Superman.

LaBeouf says Jake Gyllenhaal is no longer in the running for the lead. "They're going to go with an unknown," said LaBeouf, adding that McG is trying to lure Scarlett Johansson for Lois Lane and Johnny Depp for Lex Luthor.

The 18-year old actor will also be in Constantine, with Keanu Reeves.
