A few weeks ago, a Zimmer-Williams Superman mashup entitled Last Son popped up on the internet, and while it was good, the drum beat was a bit too overwhelming, at least in this writer's opinion, and in the opinion of many commenters. Well, YouTube user IronPixelChef has made a very simple, yet epic combination of the two Superman scores.
In his words: "I've read in a few places that some have heard "elements of" or a "tribute" to the John Williams Superman theme in the new Man of Steel theme by Hans Zimmer. I dropped the Williams Superman theme into "An Ideal of Hope," without any pitch shifting, only adjusting for tempo, and here's what I got. Sounds to me like Zimmer definitely tips his hat to Maestro Williams in the new score. Enjoy!"
