Brian Peterson Says That "No Tights, No Flights" Rule Doesn't Apply To Smallville Season 10!

Producer Brian Peterson has once again hinted that the show will end with Clark wearing the famous Superman costume and talks more about what to expect from the final season...

"The rule on Smallville has always been 'no tights, no flights' as everybody knows. But it's season ten, so I think it's time for some of the rules to go out the window."

"We're not only forging ahead like we've done every season with brand new villains and...heroes. We're also really looking at where Clark's been, where he came from, the loves he's had and the struggles he's had, to platform where he's going."

"It's a whole new dynamic between them. Lois is keeping a secret at the same time as he is. You can only imagine how well she does that, because Lois is not very good at keeping her mouth shut!"

Actually it still does since he doesn't become Superman until the end.

they should have just changed the name of the show 4 years ago too "Metropolis" and change into a superman show. cuz my main beef with the show was just that he basically already defeated every foe before he ever became superman.

I really don't get what CW and co keep on about!???

WE KNOW HE'S GETTING THE FLIGHT AND CAPE SINCE IT'S BEEN PROMISED EVERY YEAR SINCE DAY ONE?

We know its all gonna be in the last episode, why do they keep telling us what we already have known for 10 [frick]ing years?!?

@ grif

the suit & flying won't save this show. lmfao

its beyond saving,if it was cancelled about season 2.

they could rebooted it with superman in costume from day one.

smallville fans, how many episodes is season 10 ?

if its 22,that would mean you have roughly 5 months of hate to put up with.

don't get me wrong the hate is not towards any of you,its just towards this extremely crappy show.

Smallville really came up big after falling flat with Doomsday. Once there was a time slot change, the producers realized the same 'ol same 'ol wasn't going to work anymore. I can't blame them for wanting to stretch it out. I know I've slacked at work from time to time. Who hasn't?! I enjoyed the majority of the seasons. When they were greenlit for the final season, the producers actually wanted to thank the devoted followers and go out swinging. Good on 'em!

Only 1 hour and 45 minutes left till the premier. Can't wait. We've always known that they will throw that rule out sometime this year.

i know it's only a dream... but i would seriously LOVE a BRUCE WAYNE reference of some kind in this final season. You know, like a "Wayne Enterprises" sign or something (they've previously let us know that Gotham is there). Now that they are throwing away the "no flight no tights" rule, they could throw in some bats... That was one of the things of the show that cought me for so long: my dream of having a Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne interaction at some point (not the gay kind). But i guess i would have to keep dreaming... or not?

@MagnaSolaris the 'no tights no flights' rule was put on by the original show runners so it could be broken if they chose to. Sadly the batman thing is a whole crazy "what if people get him confused with the film batman!". Warner really wanna protect that particular cash flow

oh! one more thing, have you realized that the reflection of the "S" of the suit in clarck eyes is wrong? if you put an S in front of a mirror it will look backwards...

I'll admit I'm usually optimistic for every CB I've heard about in the recent years, but X-Men FC sounds terrible. Probably will still see it just to give it a fair shot, but from everything I've heard, sounds terrible.

hmmm, how do you hate on pure garbage ??? How do you STFU, is a BETTER question. I admit that as I said before that not every episode is gold and that I actually do sometimes agree with Deadpool72, buddy you have a lot of valid points, but to the other guy, to call it pure garbage is a bit too far, Smallville has been around a long time and yes it has dropped the ball on certain episodes but overall IMO i think its a great show. @deadpool, lets start a petition to get a Harley Quinn show lol

It's just lame that Clark becomes Superman by the time Lex Luthor has already died. Superman and Lex Luthor have always been traditional arch enemies. Now when Clark FINALLY becomes Superman...then what? No Lex Luthor? That is pathetic.

I really hope Rosenbaum will return...

Rosenbaum made everything interesting in Smallville. I hella want him to return this season. At least for the season finale...we need some kind of confirmation on this. If he returns for the finale...and teams up with Darkseid to battle SUPERMAN...that'd be the most epic finale ever for Smallville. Seriously.
