SMALLVILLE: Beast webclip shows Doomsday won't die in finale.

So, they are loyally following the "The Death Of Superman" storyline. Clark will send exile Doomsday to outerspace. Then in season 9, Doomsday returns and Clark knows that this time he has to kill him; that's when they kill each other.

But if you look at it, Davis is in there. Davis is the human version of Doomsday.

If they are going to venture into the superman comics this much bringing all these DC heros they can at least have him fly! Pretty soon they will have the justice league with a superman that cant fly.

i m a huge fan of smallville...and wisconsincharm and volstallian smallville has a no tights no flights rule for clark...however they can work around this by giving clark red and blue outfits and superjumps...but smallville is owned by two new people so who knows if that rule still applies but if i had to guess i d have to go with clark imprisoning davis in the phantom zone with some last words of like "be with your family davis" and him falling back into the phantom zone where he must transform to doomsday to survive and then is unable to transform back and has no intelligence of being human or mercy...then something like a nuke cracks his glass panel and he comes back years later...just my thought

One little issue with this whole death scenario my friends.... this series is an origin story. The adventures of superman still needs to happen and all thos many years of him in his spandex and Lex going at it are still to come. Not to mention a possible wedding with thwe mighty miss lane, so yeah he ain't dying anytime soon. At least not in this series

Now i've just accepted that Smallville is a parallel universe esque thing going on as the costume thing is rediculous now. He should of had it at the end of season 5 (when the show intended to finish originally)

I'm thinking season 9 should be a 6 part mini-movie series. Season 8 finale Clark doesn't find about Davis still being alive. He goes into his training at the fortress. The first episode of season 9 should address the absence of the red and blue blur as well as the return of lex luthor. Episode 2 will be the return of Clark but now with glasses kind of a Superman Returns vibe. The third episode will be the first appearance of Superman which leads into Lois realizing the truth and the two opening up to each other about how they feel about each other. At the end as it seems that everything is perfect it flashes to a tv in a remote location showing Superman on the news then pans around to the back of the room thats dark where a set of red eyes open. The fourth episode is much like the comic doomsday laying down a crazy war path, Clark finds out while hes with Lois they have a dramitic moment about how she just got him back and didn't want to loose him again. Then he goes off to do his thing. The episode ends with the two facing off. The fifth episode is an epic battle something right out of the matrix which leads to both of thier deaths. Then the sixth episode is the funreal and rise of the protical son.

I agree with the whole " no fly zone is crap", even in his smallville years, he was able to fly. Red blue blur? thats getting really annoying, they need to just finish it right. I agree with a season 9, but it has to be the last season, and he needs to fly soon, and the last episode will be the inrodction to the costume, ending his "Smallville years" which oddly enough have taken place in MEtropolis for the past couple of seasons....Im not even a huge Superman fan, but i feel the injustice being done to the character

Do we have to let everyone know what happens in the finale!?!? Geez, it was on the main page!! Thanks. :thumbs down!!! P.s, i never thought it was a great idea to bring DOOMSDAY in SMALLVILLE! Should've been saved for the next movie!!!!! Still it is a lil fun but a DOOMSDAY VS SUPERMAN ROUTH would be F'ing AWESOME!!!!! An EPIC movie in the making!!! I can't believe Kevin Smith's SUPERMAN never came about!!!! BAD WARNERS!!! Lol.

I couldn't make out the article but I'll sound off on the topic:

Okay, I love the show because even tho it's soapish and melodramatic, it's still the first in-depth look at Supey that I've ever seen. I never liked any other incarnation of him, not in the shows, or movies. A LITTLE bit in the cartoon. But the problem was that Superman is SO DAMN STUCK on continuity, it's bogged down. Some of that shit just no longer works, y'know?

I think that no-flying thing is getting tedious. And he HAS flown before, plus he saw his cousin fly, so he knows he can.

The ONLY fear I have about him sqaring off with Doomsday is that the budgetary constraints may prevent any GOOD action. I had a kinda lame idea on my fansite about sending money to the CW to help pay for better special effects, but like I said, I know that was lame. But they need to spend some decent cabbage on the budget already.

Plus, since Smallville has SCRAPPED continuity I propose this:

Have the "S" emblem on his chest double as some kind of brainwave emitter that somehow prevents people from being able to percieve his TRUE likeness. Like they SEE him, but don't really see him, y'know? Hell I think I need to write a blog to explain this stuff.

No worries, leee777. This doesn't necessarily point to a specific end. It just shows that there will be division between oliver and clark as far as how to deal with the situation. Clark, in the show and comics, always looks for the most moral way to deal with something, rather than the easiest. Oliver looks at the situation like most people would.

And lee mitchel, nice idea. The phantom zone would be a great answer, rather than just flinging him into space or taking him to the end of time, to expire with the universe as it contracts. I likes.

And yeah FLY for F#%$'s sake!!! FLY!!! What are you, the last retarded kryptonian???? Take to the sky, you B!#%!!! You're embarrasing us!!
OriginalPhysco
OriginalPhysco - 4/28/2009, 4:42 PM
But I think he will be shot to outer-space. Besides they said they are doing it more like the mythology... so he will without a doubt be shot to outer-space and return in season 9
Coats
Coats - 4/28/2009, 4:58 PM
But in the comic, didn't he die fighting it to the death FIRST, and then, after coming back to life in the miniseries, use a time travel device given to him by a watcher to take Doomsday to the end of creation?

I can't imagine it will go down like that unless the legion comes back to do it for him. I do agree that they'll probably have some faux-conclusion this season, only to have Doomsday return at some point next season for a more final end, though. Without Lex, they're strapped for a real enemy.

I'd love Darkseid but he's too fantastic for the show. Then again, if they DID bring on Darkseid they'd just make him into a WWE wrestler, who was a "Kryptonian with a grudge". So maybe it's better that they never touch him.

Anything other than burying Doomsday tied up in a Green suit will not work. Period.

This is one of those few things on Smallville that can be left to mesh 100% with the comics. When Doomsday rises to ultimately kill Superman, he does so from a prison buried somewhere in the midwest, where he is tied up in a green suit.

Epiphany! Davis/Doomsday is going to be locked up in the Indian caves where the Namen and Sageeth drawings are. Since they are retcon-ing the purpose of the Namen story to be about Kal-El and Doomsday it works perfectly that that will be what the room that teleports Clark to the Fortress is actually meant for.

I am 100% on this. No one should be happy with anything else.

Smallville its the only version of Superman that I've actually liked. Now lets get Clark AIRBORNE and into some kind of uniform the black uniform with the S sheild(vonstallin)great idea would be cool with some type of mask. Lets face it this isnt the Superman from any comic book version I'VE EVER READ SO a MASK ISNT out of the question.
